I think frequent application of comb/ brush makes a difference, also decent haircut to start with. But mine is affected by the weather. Heat seal helps, but would be interested to know if anyone has any other tips.
I either swirl mine into a sort of french pleat held with an ibis clip, or put in a bun done with a small doughnut when I need to look good all day (at conferences, that means 12 hours with only time for a swipe of lipstick twice). Then hairspray. It stays neat and tidy all day that way. The less bits hanging down the better.
