That will flatter a 5'3 on-the-way-to-past-it mum? I can't find the threads. Love musto, Henri l, etc.

Target Dry Parka, Merrell Ellenwood, Jack Wolfskin Icegaurd, North Face Arctic Parka...these are the top names I can remember from last years huge thread. Good Luck smile

Boden ftw! I love my 3 Boden macs.

I can't wait til it gets cold enough for my Jack Wolfskin Iceguard. In spite of advertising, it is waterproof and washable (confirmed by label)

Ah one of my fav mn threads of the year has started. smile. Checking in

Didriksons. Don't forget Didriksons.

This thread will run and run grin

Ooh just found the old thread, but I always like a new one! The Jack Wolfskin coats I see have up to 50% off....
Really want it to be flattering too, and not look too much like little person in giant coat.

Thanks for starting this thread - I have been trawling the 'net for the perfect, waterproof (with a hood that stays up), stylish school run/work coat!
I need one for both the cool autumn/spring weather plus another for the depths of winter.

I wish there was somewhere that would stock all the permutations of all the brands so I could try them on - it's all a bit mind boggling confused

I'm looking at a Jack Wolfskin fleece jacket in the sale - what is their sizing like? I'm an 18 but quite large in the boobage dept. A good fit is a fine balance.

KanyesVest Tue 21-Jul-15 11:01:16

Chic - where's the 50% off??? I might buy another I'm 5ft2, and the Iceguard comes to just above my knees. It's really warm but a slim enough fit, so I don't feel (or I hope look) like the Michelin man in it. It's got an adjustable waist toggle thing that you pull from inside the pockets, so you can fit it reasonably well. The hood is great too.

Lovelyfriend, I have a Jack Wolfskin coat rather than a fleece, but I'm a size 10 with big boobs and got a 10/sm which fits me perfectly.

I've bought a Didriksons Mary coat for this winter. It is half price on Viking Kids. I stalked it for 6 months, as £200 was a bit steep.

Chicinwellies Tue 21-Jul-15 12:18:27

Ooh Prima a fab reduction!! Just ordered the grey and will see how it is. Love the Wolfskin ice guard, is the properly tipping-it-down waterproof and does the hood stay put?!

KanyesVest Tue 21-Jul-15 12:36:25

I wore it in rain and snow last year and although the coat got wet, I didn't. And it dried in a couple of hours hanging next to a rad. Hood definitely stays put. It has snappers and a cord you can pull to shorten and tighten it I should be on commission here

XS/S/M Iceguards on sale at Zalando for £50

Chicinwellies Tue 21-Jul-15 17:24:34

LovelyFriend eek! Now that is a bargain.

Chicinwellies Tue 21-Jul-15 20:16:34

Ice also ordered! In black. Will see which I prefer x

I love my sea salt coat, it is just so waterproof, long and cosy.

andadietcoke Tue 21-Jul-15 20:59:14

I have the north Face arctic parka and love it. It's like wearing a duvet. When it's warmer I have a knee length Boden Mac which is fleece lined.

Onynx Tue 21-Jul-15 23:00:19

Love my Jack Murphy purple Malvern coat...

I really liked my Joules coat from last year. Wore it out in a rainstorm, only the coat got soaked.

Brandnewbrighttomorrow Wed 22-Jul-15 11:51:11

Bought mine last year - warm and waterproof, brilliant hood, doesn't look enormous. Sheds a few feathers but other than that completely amazing!
