As they dont work for me
Does anyone else find this when jeans might be a little too sweltering?

What about linen trousers? Or some wide-leg palazzo pants?

A nice jumpsuit? I wore one out last night and had tons of compliments x

i fear i look like a sailor in wide leg trews
Jumpsuit - unlikely as i have a short ' waist ' - waisted dresses never work for that reason
I
am
a
freak

I'm still wearing peg and 3/4 trousers or shorts - although I know that is mutton territory
I bought still wear a fair bit of whistles type looks on nights out

This is all miles out of fashion but I like it and it suits me
I am a fan of massive short dresses but I get that you abhor

No to linen trousers. They make me look like a very scruffy mushroom.

Depends where the night out is.

Casual pub - shorts or a tube mini with a top of some sort and Converse or ballet shoes. Or rolled up thin skinnies (the black cotton ones) and trainers and a cotton shirt.

Bar/meal / dancing - Thin cotton jeans, rolled up to three quarter length with a silk top and heels? Or pencil skirt and heels, with a t-shirt and denim jacket.

I don't like being very dressed up though. It doesn't suit me, and I don't go anywhere that needs it.

Skinny jeans turned up to 7/8. Big wedges and dressy tank. Normally cool enough in evenings to get away with jeans.

Yes, the Dorothy Perkins Harper rolled up skinny, with a nice loose fitting (silk) tank. Nice shoes.

So tonight have two options
Just tried and the skirt looks nice, almost dress like with a tight fitting cap Sleeve black T-shirt and denim jacket and ankle cuff heeled sandals. (Zara last year)

Or a white plain cut fine lace T-shirt with black Skinnys and same shoes
