I need help with my wardrobe!

I want a few basics, that all match, that I can wear with everything and it all goes really well and makes me look fantabulous.

It's a really big ask but can you s&b gurus give me some ideas of versatile, easy to wear clothes that would match some other items.

my usual style is either skirts/dresses with tights and either black flats (if wearing tights) or ankle boots. or I wear a lot of tunics and leggings.

the colours that look best on me are rust, merlot, dark green, navy, beige, gold, grey, cream, mustard.

please help sad

also, I don't wear trousers/shorts and prefer jeggings to jeans. I have a big bum and hips and can't get a pair of shorts etc to fit well. I have accepted I probably will never wear anything like that sad

Dark denim jeans - straight or skinny
Blazer in neutral colour
Pencil skirt (midi length)
Fine knit cardigan (cropped or long line)
T shirts in black & white - try Next
black or navy midi length dress
Ankle boots
Heels (mid height)

That would be a good set of basics for me, I do wear black a lot though!

I like a lot of black also, I like the sound of a navy midi and a neutral blazer, maybe stone/khaki I'll have a look for grin

Id buy bottoms in neutral colours like, beige, white, black and grey and get tops or t shirts in the colour of choice.

Examples of my staples:
True black jeggings
Indigo jeggings
Grey jeans
Simple black skirt
Grey blazer
Black cardigan
Navy Breton top

As well as having tops in your colour of choice you could add accessories like tights and jewwllery.

I suit your colours too.

My staples:

Petit Bateau heavy breton (1 navy with white stripes, 1 cream with navy stripes)
Darkest indigo skinny jeans (Levi curve, as like a bra, skinnies must FIT. I also have a big bum and hips and these were a revelation!)
Ankle boots - my favourites are still Ash Jalouse
&Other stories t shirts (not perfect but a good loosish fit) navy & white
Cashmere crew necks, I buy on offer so the cheapest colour!
Loose silk blouse (cream but machine washable!!)
brown plaited belt
Black rayban wayfarers OR brown aviators
navy peacoat
Navy herringbone longline coat
black leather longish miniskirt
Layering shirt (I love the me&em one!)
Trainers (wankery fashion ones!)

Summer - mango chino shorts, boden silk cami tops.

right, I've had a rifle through your posts and a few other threads/blogs on the topic and I've come up with this:

I'm having a few colours only. these are Rust, Navy, Black, Grey, Khaki, Merlot and like a camel/tan

so the staples I've come up with are:
1x nude Bra
2x nude pants
1x black bra
5/6x black pants
nude bandelettes
black bandelettes
2x thin pyjamas
2x thick pyjamas
2x long sleeved black top
1x long sleeved white top
navy blazer
3x black leggings
rust skirt
camel skirt
black skirt
black jumper
khaki top
2x black midi dresses
1x navy midi dress
ugg boots
ankle boots - black and tan
navy brogues
breton top

I guess it's more of a.capsule wardrobe than staples but I'm halfway through purchasing the things off here and it's revolutionised my wardrobe already grin

Do you wear shirts? Might be worth adding a blouse?

I'm a sahm, I was planning one day in investing in a smart pencil skirt, blouse and court shoes incase I land an interview somewhere. atm though I'm in the middle of losing weight and have a 6month old so won't be looking for work anytime soon
