Can't say I love either of them but why the huge price difference from the same manufacturer?

If you read the description it says they are made in England using traditional methods so probably partly hand made, they are also more expensive leather. I used to work in a Clarks in a wealthy part of London, we would never have been able to sell shoes at this price, I don't really know why clerks are making them

Yes, I think that's what I was getting at, obviously there's a difference in quality, but a £200+ difference and who's going to buy £300 shoes in Clarks, that for all "design" purposes look just like their £60 ones?

The pricier one is made of better leather, has leather lining and sole and is made 'bespoke' which indicates more hand finishing. It also comes with a dust bag and cleaning cloth.

They look similar (and I don't like either tbh) but they are different prices because they are different quality standards of product.

It is an odd product to see in Clarks I agree - can't think they will sell many when you could get a designer pair for similar £ hmm

They've got them in Orange or Silver at £295 too grin

One is leather upper, lining and sole and hand finished.
The other is leather upper but man made lining and sole.
Things that look the same are not always nearly the same.

The expensive ones have their own care kit and dust bag. Worth £235, apparently wink.

I am sure they are better made, more comfortable, longer lasting, etc. But I don't have it in me to spend that much on casual shoes. I agree that people who shop in Clarks probably don't, in general

The Hamble ones are named after a doll from Playschool TV programme

I remember Hamble from play school, she was uglier than the shoes!

They are hideous, I know that much!

What does 'made in England in a bespoke factory' even mean? 'Bespoke' means 'made to order', as in, each pair is made to individual measurements. How can they be bespoke if you order them online and they're churned out of a factory? confused
