My hair is normally in great condition, but we've been here three days and it's like straw!

I'm thinking some kind of hair masque. ...?

I'm near Disneyland so I have access to a big supermarket, Sephora and a few other places.

My hair is shortish, thick and coloured.

Le Petit Marsellais (sp?) comes in a gold and red bottle/tub/tube depending which one you get (shampoo/conditioner/mask). Had similar problem on holiday in Madrid a couple of years back, go this in a supermarket an dit di dthe trick, it's a french brand though so should be available where you are. this did the trick. Got this mask.

Coconut oil. There's something about it that means it penetrates the hair, whereas other types of oil sit on the surface.

Nuxe huile prodigieuse - mix a few drops with your conditioner, or use it (sparingly) as a pre-shampoo treatment.
Jojoba oil also works for me, used the same way was described above.
