Do you have an "everyday" eyeshadow?

What's your daily eye make up like? At the moment I tight line with a brown pencil and just add mascara. I'm looking for a nice everyday eyeshadow in a neutral colour but maybe with a bit of oomph if that makes any sense?! I am pale with blonde hair and lashes and green, very small eyes! Warm toned, I think but not positive.

Any inspiration would be greatly appreciated. And I'm just after one colour as I'm crap at blending Grin

I wear Benefit Birthday Suit every day, although my colouring is darker than yours. It's a nice neutral with a bit of oomph!

Mid brown hair, green eyed, pale ski here and I use:

  • MAC shroom all over
  • Chanel Safari on lid and crease, building it up darker in the crease
  • dark brown 2000 eye liner on top lid and outer corner of lower

I've got eyelash extension so don't wear mascara. I'm nothing if not predictable....

I have the nude collection from urban decay. I think it's called naked basics palette.

This has just hugely helped me. I used to have an eyeshadow that I loved and when it run out I went and bought something different and over time I couldn't remember what the eyeshadow was!

I have pictures of me wearing it in photos with my newborn a few years ago and every time i see the photo I get nostalgic about my eye makeup lol. Now thanks to this thread and the mention of Urban Decay, I remember it was Sin and I'm going to go and replace it

Thank you!!

I use Half Baked Urban decay on lid then Smog in crease of eyelid , both in Urban Decay Naked Pallette .
My colouring is darker than yours though , olive skin / brown eyes.
I use Rimmel Dark Brown liquid eyeliner during day for a softer look.
Switch to black for evenings out .

My daytime eyeshadow is Rimmel Scandaleyes in Bluffing, I like it because it's quick and easy to apply. I'm also crap at blending so I just put a line across my lid and smudge it with my finger.
Sometimes I swap to MaxFactor Masterpiece in Coffee for a stronger colour.
I wear it with l'oreal chocolate addition eyeliner and l'oreal Volume Million Lashes Brown Mascara.
At the weekend it's just the mascara.
For evenings I use the same shadow but with a liquid brown eyeliner and black mascara and add No.7 Moisture Drench lippy in Soft Earth.
I'm not very adventurous with my make up!

I don't. I find too much eyeshadow makes me look tired and a bit 1989.

I use a nude all over them thick smudged eyeliner.

I'd recommend the Naked palettes too. I've got 1 and 3 I think (the neutrals, and the slightly pinky ones)

I use Bobbi Brown Grey ( light to mid grey depending on how much you apply) or Cement which is more beigy OR Wheat which is less grey and slightly yellower than the other two.

I also have the Urban Decay Naked (2 I think) which is nice but I'm only using 2 shades from the pan- one is Foxy(I think) and the paler one - an ivory shade.

I use Bobbi Brown kohl pencil in Storm - grey- as an eye liner top lid, and black mascara.

I have the same colouring as you- slate-green eyes and pale skin.

Actually I think my Naked palette is the Basics too- there is no glitter in the shades which suits me but 2 shades are much too dark for anything except an eyeliner.

Eye makeup wearers - do you put foundation on your eyelids? Am I being stupid? If you wear a nude colour on them do you put foundation on first?

I have dark eyes and don't usually wear any eye makeup at all but current sleep deprivation caused by newborn means my eyes are like holes in a muddy wall at the moment. I have a good undereye concealer I need to start using but not sure about upper bit.

Not really eyeshadow but I put a dab of Benefit lemon aid on just to brighten up

Naked 2 for me from Urban Decay, but I'm cool toned.

Naked 2. Or at the moment I'm using a Mac shadow. A pinky shimmery nude one. It's lovely.

Bobbi Brown Galaxy cream eyeshadow - neutral greyish, have used for years and would be utterly lost without it. Quite expensive, but with daily use one pot lasts about a year, so amazing value. Plus either Clinique cream shaper for eyes in Black Diamond, or Clarins grey kohl pencil. Estée Lauder non smudge mascara. Takes about 1 minute all in all, but completely transforms my face.

Blonde with blue eyes and I wear Urban Decay 'Toasted' - so so flattering.

I have a Barbara Daly primer and a Bare Minerals 5in1 (Candlelit peach) . They give a nice 'neutral' with a touch of colour in the 5in1.

I covet the Benefits eyeshadow but I know I'll never wear them.

I have a couple of the Sleek palettes though the Au Naturel on has grown legs and wandered into my 13yo DD room .

Wow loads of ideas thanks everyone!

i use the naked palette all the times too, buck i think is the one that's run out.

Yes cheesy, I always wear a primer, there's a little pack that comes with the Urban Decay pallette, I use those, always makes the colour intensify & last longer.

I wear Mac Painterly which is a bit like primer meets neutral shadow.

Report
workadurka · 28/06/2015 10:29

I use Mac Brulee as a neutral although I have similar colouring to you and a slightly shimmery peachy / orangey shadow can look fab.

The MUA nude palettes are quite good. V cheap version of the Urban Decay palettes.

I use UD primer potion underneath shadow, it is brilliant.

Annarose2014 · 28/06/2015 10:41

Always always always eye primer. Everything creases on me. Don't bother with foundation over the eyelids.

I use the Naked 2 palette but if I couldn't be arsed with that I use either Painterly paint pot by Mac which is basically the same tone as my skin or Vintage Selection paint pot which is a shimmery version of Painterly.

If you live in Ireland, there's a Wet n Wild single shadow called Nutty which is the most flattering taupey colour ever for wearing on its own. Thats a handy one.
