Christening/ graduation dress for the newly plump

Hello magic workers of S&B.

We're christening our small girl in July, and my husband is graduating the following week.

The christening is part of the usual Sunday service and we want it to be really low key and casual.

After the graduation we're going for a riverside walk and a country pub with playground for the smallies.
Ideally I would like a dress I could wear to both. I'm thinking midi length, and I would prefer cotton and a block colour.

Trouble is, I've gained nearly a stone recently which isn't shifting (underlying health stuff). I'm 5ft 10 and probably veering from a 14 into a 16 now depending on shop.
Have soft but nice arms, weird shaped legs with double knees, sticky-out tummy. Sound bad but I'm much better than the sum of my parts Wink

Can anyone help with cheapish suggestions? Trying to keep under £35 or so.

Spend a little more & try the Phase Eight sale. They really reduce stuff & the quality is quite good.

Seems a bit hard to find anything that is block colour, cotton and midi length for £35.

Lindy Bop:
Spotty cotton
Spotty not cotton

Great Plains:
Green linen
Red non cotton

It's a shame this isn't a bit brighter.

Probably stating the obvious here, OP, but if you've always been slim you'll have looked good in most things. If you put on a bit of weight, it's more important that you try on dresses - internet shopping's more difficult, as it's harder to get a good fit with a bit more flesh on you.

Love the green linen dress, might get it for my graduation, had been really struggling, thanks Smile

( Pantsalive I'm only seeing the front page on your links ... And I'm not certain the first two of mine work without registering first.)

I can open all the links to the right things (well I presume so, they are all dresses, not front pages). Maybe it's a mobile thing?
