Pre holiday skin routine

What do you do for your skin prior to a holiday to ensure your skin is in the best possible condition and doesn't dry out and peel.

I always use sun cream and after sun etc but after two weeks of being in sun sea sand and pool water I don't want my skin to feel dry and tight and then my tan peel!

Also which are the best after sun/moisturiser you use which will prevent this?
