HELP! Im one of those people who sweat like a pig and im fed up of going for a walk and ending up wet through(even in winter)i went for a walk last night and when i got back you could wring out everything i was wearing including my jeans.Iv been like this for as long as i can remember and often have to strip off when i get home as my clothes are wet through.im 40 years old and fairly active i run most mornings and find my running gear quiet good at soaking up my sweat but not hanging on to it but i dont want to spend all day in my sports stuff.I saw dr some years ago and was given a strong deoderant which i didnt like and i didnt like the other options(i think lasering was mentioned)as it would cure the problem in one area but make it worse in another.i need some every day clothing that will wick away sweat like my sports stuff but doesnt look to sporty that look is great on younger girls but on a 5ft 1 40 year old not so good. Most of the info iv read on the net regarding excessive sweating recommends wearing natural fibres like cotton but i find cotton the worst for soaking up and hanging on to moisture.I mainly wear skinny or slim fit jeans and cotton tops in plain colours and occasionally leggings as i am usually wearing walking boots or trainers. If anyone can recommend/point me in the right direction i would be very grateful, money is not a worry as a lot of my sports wear was £££(nike, sweatybetty, lululemon)and my everyday wear is mostly hush, baukjen and various high street stuff like m&s,next and fatface.

Bumping as I'm the same!

I tend to stick with dark colours - navy or black, never anything that will visibly show I've been sweating like a pig!

I suffer too. I wear dark tops, always wear a vest top under tops to absorb any sweat. I carry baby wipes and deodorant in my handbag. I am thinking of having Botox under arms done as it lasts 6 months.

Snap!

The worst sweating for me is in my crotch area I look like I've wet myself :-( it's soo embarrassing.

I stick to white or black trousers loose fitting cotton t shirts or vest tops.

Cotton underwear.

Maxi dresses with shorts underneath.

I change underwear two- three times per day.

Liquid talc can be quite good at keeping you dry. Agree that extra strength anti-perspirants a horrible.

With regard to Botox I too have heard it can cause you to sweat more in an area that hasn't been botoxed.

Have you tried odaban? I don't think I over doing it by saying it changed my life! Can use on any part of the body.
For clothing Adidas do a range that is cotton feel but that wicking fabric it's so lovely and soft. Sorry can't think of the style but you'll find it on website x

I am so glad it isn't me. I have to wear a uniform and am so glad the bottoms are dark although they are very fitted.

I have a similar problem to Maverick, where I have a sweaty crutc/bum. So embarrassing especially as I'm in the public eye all day.

Thank you for making me feel like I'm not alone! I've always had this issue, as a teen I only ever wore black and though the sweating has got better as I've got older, I still suffer from excessive sweating at 40.

I currently live in the south of the USA where it's 90+ for months at a time, and high humidity! When outside, the sweat is literally dripping off me, even if I just walk slowly Sad thank god for air conditioning but don't make me sit on plastic chairs in the summer!! Blush and when I exercise? I look like I've just got out of the shower, tho I don't care too much, as I know I'm fit and healthy.

A friend once told me when I was about 14 that my sweating was due to being overweight...and whilst I know better (5ft 11 and size 12/14), that kind of stuck with me!

I often wonder if I have some sort of broken internal thermostat...I take cool showers, use talc, sometimes even wear a pad to absorb the sweat (TMI?!) and have just ordered some sloggi shorts for under maxi dresses, thanks to genius suggestion on MN!

www.patagonia.com/us/shop/womens-dresses

Brands like Patagonia and Columbia do cute summer dresses in light, wicking fabrics...may be worth a look?
