Anyone 45+ - would you have the courage to wear ..?

Would you have the courage to wear a skort? It just covers my bottom, am lucky not to have any cellulite but my legs have seen better days.

I'm trying to put a fancy dress costume together on a budget. With a top I have and a couple of accessories I can just about get away with the look I'm trying to achieve wearing jeans. However, I've just tried on my DD's black skort, it fits (!) and would finish off the look.

With bare legs, I wouldn't. With black opaques, I might.

Yep, I've got one packed for my holiday on Saturday, plus a pair of lovely lace (lined) shorts (3.00 from Amazon, took ages to come but got the matching top and thought it would make a lovely beach cover up).

I'm your age and I have a couple of skorts. Usually wear them with tights, but have been known to wear them bare legged.

What's the look you're going for?

Yes I would and do. I'm 45 and a size 16 so doubly disadvantaged but I look ok.

Always with opaques tho. Never ever bare legged

Im 43 and would love to wear one - but have the most God awful varicose veins so my skirt wearing days are over. Madmog, if I didn't have these pulmonary atrocities I would go total Liz McDonald and live in short skirts/shorts/skorts. Embrace your lovely cellulite-free legs.

I wouldn't as I don't really like them but not an age thing I am 49 and still wear shorts even in town ??

I'm 41 so a bit younger that you have asked for but I have two that I wear all the time on holiday.

I probably would in this country in the summer if my legs were nicely tanned.

It's sad we use the word courage- I'm off on holiday on Saturday, I'm 48, not yet clear of cervical cancer and am covered in scars, collapsed veins, my hair was shaved so I look like an ageing punk so I dyed in platinum and went with it. I don't give a shit if anyone laughs at me or gives me looks- I'm here, I'm hot (it's gonna be 33 degrees! Lol) and I'm going to wear what I want. I had a radical hysterectomy so now have a kangaroo pouch which I didn't have before, I'm heavier (12-14) but I've got some really funky clothes cos that's the way I've always dresses. The best dress to wear is confidence. I even bought a pair of silver studded docs, I love them, I don't need anyone else to.

Enjoy your holiday Shonajay. I would. But I l live in the tropics and wear shorts out. Feel sad that maybe I 'shouldn't' 'cos I am over 40. Live and let live/life's not a dress rehearsal and other platitudes apply.
