Yikes. Patch of dark pigmentation on my cheek !

OMG. A large patch of pigmentation the size of a 5p piece has appeared by my cheekbone. I have used Liquid Gold for some time now and have just used the Bravura salicylic acid once., This is new. I use sunscreen but maybe haven't been as diligent as I should have. Can I get rid of this ???

It will take ages. Use serums with vit C / antioxidants in them every day (high concentration) and make sure you use a high SPF broad spectrum sunscreen every day, even if it isn't sunny. This is why liquid gold et al warn you that your skin becomes more sensitive to sunlight after use.

I have a small patch on my jawline from last summer that is only just fading, despite diligent use of the above. I also reduce the frequency of chemical exfoliation during high summer and don't take chemical exfoliants abroad with me.

Thanks for the advice.I do have Kiehl's Factor 50 so need to use that every day now.Should I continue with the Liquid Gold and salicylic acid ? Which vit C /antioxidant serums would you recommend and when do I use them?

Have asked DD to get me some Kiehl's dark spot corrector samples from town tonight. Anyone used this?

I've used the la roche posay dark spot serum, think it's called pigmentclar. It's good, fades the spots pretty fast. You have to be diligent with sunscreen though or nothing will work.

I also use the Oz naturals Vit C serum every day, after acid toner, before sunscreen /moisturiser

Sunscreen religiously even in winter from now on I'm afraid.

Retinols and a Vit C serum may help fade it.

Unfortunately her tips are bad news - lots of SPF, don't expect it to get better

I don't think it is quite as bad as that as I've definitely had some spots fade but it's hard work.

It's strange. Like a bruise or a shadow with no defined edges. Can you get the La Roche Posay pigmentclar in Boots XiCi ? DD got me 2 samples of Kiehl's dark spot corrector from town but all that will do is tell me if it has any adverse reaction on my skin.

So I have just put on some of the Kiehl's dark spot corrector. It's like a gel. Not greasy at all although my skin feels a bit tight. I've put my SPF 50 ontop and will see how it goes. I will also go to Boots and see if they have any samples of La Roche Posay Pigmentclar. Anyone have any experience of comparing these two , the best way to use them and which they prefer?

I get the LRP from escentual.com sonata.

The only other one I've tried was the clinique one which was awful and nade no difference at all . I would try and read as many reviews online as you can to try and compare how people find them. A trial of either isn't really much use as you need to use them for months in order to get a result.
Retin A might also help and also products with niacimnamide and arbutol. The Korean thread here on s&b might help with products there and also there is a thread about IPL which could get rid of the marks permanently if all else fails
