I'm 42 and fed up dressing like an overgrown teenager Grin - my staple off duty outfit is jeans, converse and a hoody and I just want to look a bit more ... grown up without being overdressed. What can I buy? What shops should I go to? I'm off to Bluewater so have a good selection of shops to look in. I'm 5'6, size 16 and a 36F

Would White Stuff be a good in between shop for you? Casual and relaxed, but a step away from jeans and hoodies. I buy loads in there, and I'm 39, size 10ish and 5 foot 1. Some of the stuff is very twee, but I like a lot of it for casual, easy to wear outfits.

Why not swap the hoody for a blazer style jacket? Loads around at the moment in different styles and will make the jeans & converse look smarter.

I would try gap for popover shirts and sports style smartish Trousers.

worth taking a look in New look for fashion jewellery and a scarf Or two. There is a very light pale grey floral snood type one. I love it and it smartens an outfit. So cheap toO.

Then I would get a navy and black pair of trousers the ankle length sport type ones are great.

Pearl earrings Grin nice lipstick and enjoy your day. Let us know how to get on.

Yes I quite like White Stuff and wear quite a few of their dresses for work. Used to like Fat Face too but can't find anything much I like in there anymore. Now talk to me a bit more about blazers Waterandtea - that screams dressed up to me but I'm sure they're not! Where should I look? And would they be okay with my big boobs?
