A style virgin and a Vivenne Westwood dress

I have fallen obsessively in love with her Rubens Friday dress. This is a completely new experience for me as (a) the only dress I own is my wedding dress and (b) I am fashion-blind and likely couldn't distinguish Westwood from Warehouse!

It's from ages ago and sold out everywhere. I don't know even where to start looking - can anyone help? I'd love to wear it to DBs wedding in Aug (when I'm down from my current size - hi LC bootcampers smile)

You're right - it's sold out every where.

Call VW in the hope there's one somewhere in the world they have one left?

Alternatively, embrace your new VW love and choose another dress. smile

It is a classic 1950s summer dress style. Easy to have made if desperate.

eBay sold one a year ago, is it worth asking the seller who bought it ? It was a small 16 , more like a 14.

Maybe the buyer has worn it and is ready to sell on ?

Worth a try ?

Is this the one

Is it this one

Thanks all for the ideas (sorry it took so long to get back to you, I lost the thread)

Morello, it's the same fabric but a more fitted style I think

Trumpton, good suggestion on the following up with eBay seller! I did and found the seller was really helpful but no response from the buyer yet

I live in hope!!

Yes cathyandclaire that is the exact one! Will struggle to fit my ample sz16 into that 12 though grin

Have you looked on all the designer second hand sites such as Hardly Ever Worn It and Vestaire Collective? There are loads of them now - it might be worth pinging some of them in case they know of one lurking in the back of someone's cupboard.

It might pitch up on the The Outnet - they take loads of VW's old stock.

There is an outlet a Bicester village - might be worth a call?

I wonder if it might be worth looking for it in high end dress hire shops - and then making them an offer ?
