Foundation that makes my skin look amazing but also looks like I'm not wearing foundation!

I'm on the hunt for a new foundation. Ive been using Bourjois healthy mix serum for a while but have realised its starting to look a bit cakey on me - like its sitting on my face if that makes sense. Any ideas for something a bit less obvious and also with an SPF? Not worried about spending a bit more. My skin is not too bad and just needs evening out so I don't need heavy coverage. Any ideas

I really like Estée Lauder double wear light, think it's spf10. It's long lasting, covers any blemishes but doesn't look mask like and heavy. It's not too expensive and a little really does go a long way.

Totally agree with Estée lauder double wear suggestion. I have been using this for about 6 months and think it's great. It covers really well and lasts all day

Chanel Vitalumiere. It's airbrushing in a bottle.

I've been using a sample of the Benefit Oxygen Wow (or those words in a similar order!) and I'm pleasantly surprised. It's very liquidy, so goes on thinly.
I think it does have SPF but I use so little that I don't think it actually protects. A seperate SPF is probably a better bet.

Thanks for suggestions so far. Am in London today so will head to big John Lewis to try.

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream-amazing stuff, seriously.

You can dust it off with some Lily Lolo powder too if needed.

Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser and boots botanics Bob cream would be two other suggestions for healthy even coverage, lighter than foundation.

Oooh thanks, I'd forgotten about the Laura Mercier tinted one - used to use it ages ago. Has anyone tried the new Nars weightless foundation?

A friend gave me a sample of the new Body Shop BB cream - am now a convert from the Bourjois serum foundation. I've had so many compliments on my skin since using it, although I do prefer the look of it when it's used with a primer.

Another vote for Dior Star.

But it really depends on your skin type and colouring.

For me, the 'biggy' is finding the right shade (am pale) which rules out so many recommended brands here. Most of the cheaper brands- Bourjois etc- are too yellow / dark so I have to go upmarket to find something.

I like the Bare Minerals liquid foundation and also the Mac mineral liquid foundation. Both give great coverage but still feel light and natural. I also really rate Bobbi Brown's BB cream and I often wear it in place of foundation for day wear when I don't want an over-made up look.

You don't get enough SPF from makeup to make it worthwhile - you apply it so thinly that you will never get the SPF claimed on the bottle. If you want SPF which you should it needs to be a separate product.

For special occasions I like armani luminous silk (am v pale but can't remember the name of shade). I do dust with a tiny bit of lily lolo or else use some benefit boiing concealer where needed on top.
For everyday though it's lily lolo all the way. I hate feeling like I'm wearing foundation and this is the only one that feels normal on me.

I can highly recommended Korean bb creams especially if you are pale skinned. My favourite is holika moisture, less than £4 delivered on eBay, gives fantastic coverage and doesn't end up drying out on my skin.

Erborian CC creme.

Bloody brilliant. Three friends now use it after they complimented my skin and I told them it was make up.

Have you tried the Bourjois CC cream? I apply it with a foundation brush and it is the best natural looking, dewy coverage stuff I have ever used. I have slight rosacea and dark circles and it is marvellous at masking those.

Laura Mercier TM or Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk.

3rd vote for Dior Star.

It's absolutely beautiful. Dewy and luminous and just perfection for your face.

Thanks all, I'm going to try the Dior star and maybe the Armani too.
