Blush He phoned with a delivery, no one at home.
I started to say 'can you put it...' and he finished my sentence. And then he said, 'and I know you anyway'....Never met the man in my life. He is THAT used to delivering to me.

Comfort me, I'm not the only one, am I?

Yes, we have one like that too, he's 'the nice one'... The other one is a nark but I know his name is Clive.

Last week the DPD man asked me what I'd ordered this time (think he came round three times although they weren't all to do with me Grin)

Yeah our yodel guy also delivers pizzas to our house regularly Smile

My DHL man gave me chocolates on a Valentine's Day delivery. The DPD man has the same type of unusual breed dog as me so we always have a chat about that when he delivers.

Yes and the postwoman Blush

In my defence we live in the arse end of nowhere and I'm disabled so it's easier to have it delivered!

Yes, one is Tom other is Moustache Man. MM still rings to check my address, out of courtesy rather than necessity. A package recently was addressed to C.Eile instead of Cailin Eile, and he rang to say "Cailin, is that you?"

Our dog approves of both of these visitors, and never barks at them, yet will go nuts barking at strangers

Hermes man opens the back door and leaves stuff on the side. Surprised my husband no end!

my hermes driver stops for a chat in the supermarket and waves if we pass in the car, if he's not busy he will also stop for a half hour chat with my dad when delivering to me, oh lord I think i'm keeping him in a job.

Oh yes, me and Home Delivery Network George are great mates. He stops me when he sees me in the street if he has a parcel.

I miss Citylink Chris though. Our village was at the far end of his route and he'd always get to us stound 7am. He started very early, because he reckoned he'd be able to deliver 80% of his parcels first time if he delivered them by 9am.

I get stuff sent to work because there is no-one in during the day at home. The janitors shake their heads sorrowfully when they come in to my office with it - they think I'm a terrible spendthrift. (I am.)

I am on first names terms with hermes and DPD. Yodel are pretty good here as well. They know where I work and live so if something arrives for home and they know I am at work they will drop it off and vice versa. They are really very good.

The Sikh gentleman who delivers all Australia post parcels in my area is a fixture, utterly reliable, knows every safe drop-off point in a garden.

For perspective, most ordinary Aussie letter boxes are on the front street, can be accessed by casual passersby just putting their paws in. Shock :o

Mostly they don't. Says so much about life here.

Yes our local Hermes delivery lady knows me so well she will wave me down if we pass each other somewhere else in the town and she is on her way to my house Smile But then again she delivers quite a lot to three or four of my neighbours as well

The Hermes lady is always delivering stuff for me, she must think I constantly shop.

Yodel, hermes, postie, parcelforce, dpd...we all chat. Oh dear.

IHaveBrilloHair · 07/05/2015 13:31

Yep, all of them.
The nice dpd guy went out of his way to get my parcel back from the wrong adress the other week.
I know the postie and the Tesco/Asda guys too and come to think of it takeaway drivers.

Yodel lady knows I work nights so bangs on (ground floor bedroom) window. I can crawl to end of bed, open window and get parcel without having to get up Grin

I do have a disability but it's not visible, so they must think I just sit on the couch all day shopping bcause I'm lazy.

There is one that delivers, can't remember which company, he's a right old crank. I'm doing well if he puts a crumpled mushed up card in the letterbox.

Look at us and all our frendly delivery folk. We're all obvioulsy good business!
