My face attachment has a red tinged plastic rectangle but my body attachment just has a rectangular gap, should it have a plastic part in the centre too??

No, that's how mine is too.

Thank you frosty! I've used it the last 3 days (on different body parts) but wasn't sure if it was like that before or if I'd lost a bit somewhere along the way, need to learn to pay more attention Grin

Have you had yours long? How have you found it?

I've had it ages, over a year. I can't recommend it highly enough - my legs, underarms and face are smooth and I just do top-ups now and again.

I do have the perfect combination (for IPL) of pale skin and dark hair though.

I'm also pale with dark hairs so fingers crossed I get the same results as you

I love mine too! I struggle with legs though as I never know what bit I've already done. It's fab for face, bikini line and armpits. (Oh and my random fluffy back of neck Blush)

I've been interested in getting one of these so I'm keen to know how you've got on with it!

I'm pale with dark hair but some of the hair I want to remove is light but a lot of it. Is that likely to make it un affective?

MissWimpyDimple - is your fluffy neck dark hairs or blondies? Smile

I love mine! Used it intensively from Feb to October last year and my bikini line has barely grown back. I slacked off over the winter and need to get things going again. It's a bit time consuming at first but so worth it.Smile

I use a white eyeliner and mark out strips. Backs of the thighs are tricky but I do them in front of a mirror

I have done my underarms, top lip, chin and bikini line so far and am currently on my legs which I'm finding trickier and more time consuming than the booklet suggests. I've done lower legs and I'm 3/4 of way through my first thigh and covered in white eye liner! my arm has been getting a bit achey on legs which I'd say take 15 mins per half leg.

it has pale skin and pale hair as an option and you can still use the higher setting so hopefully would still work to who asked.

I'll definitely report back as time goes on because I've also been considering getting one for ages but was spurred on after booking a summer hol and remembing tweezering out regrowth on last years holiday only 10 days after waxing. fingers crossed it's going to save me that this year!

Just done a bit of an impulse buy and ordered one, eek!

Ive managed to get one for £220 where the cheapest I've found was £300 in boots so not bad. Fingers crossed all goes well Smile

Do you mind saying where you got it for £220? I've been after one if these for ages.

Does it hurt? I had my bikini line lasered and it was quite painful and then it just grew back?

Would it work on my legs which are normally quite down and hair is not really very dark?

Report
ProfessorPickles · 23/02/2015 13:42

I found it on eBay sugarplumKate, I'm always very sceptical about sellers on there for some reason!
But it said brand new so I'm very pleased if it arrives okay! Smile the same one is about £400 on Amazon!

The price difference relates to how many flashes the bulb can do before the handset has to be replaced. Not all have the face attchment either. If you check out the Phillips website you can compare the various models.

Note speller I haven't used one yet but my friend says it does hurt on the bikini line and fair hair is ok but you might need to put it on full power!

Report
piggychops · 23/02/2015 13:45

're the hurting, I drop the power down for my armpits as they seem a bit more sensitive. It's more of a tweak than a pain.

I got one back in December from John Lewis for £297 and it's literally changed my life. I did my arms twice and the hair hasn't grown back since start of January. Top lip and chin hair also non existent! I have brown skin and black hair.

I've read that you have to shave the hair before you use it. So if you have mixed blonde and dark hairs on upper lip, would the blonde ones then grow back stubbly? And also, what happens to the bit of hair that is still under the skin between hair root and skin surface? Does it just fall out?

Questions, questions.... I've been pondering this for a while and would love to know the answers.

Thanks Professor, sounds like you got a bargain.

How long do the bulbs last?

Report
piggychops · 23/02/2015 19:23

It's a certain number of flashes and depends on the model you have.

Agatha yes you have to shave otherwise the energy doesn't get to the hair root, but the great news is you don't get horrid razor rash after. The hair that is under the skin is just disintegrated

Report
AgathaF · 23/02/2015 19:38

Thanks for that piggy. I am a bit nervous of trying it in case the blonde hairs grow back stubbly, although I guess I can always epilate them when they grow back to get rid of that.

Report
SnoringMonkeys · 23/02/2015 20:58

Agatha according to their skin chart, dark blonde hair should have enough melanin for it to be zapped. Are your blonde hairs dark blonde or whitish blonde? If you shave downwards they shouldn't grow back too blunt.

Yes you have to shave and tbh it was a big risk I took. Still haven't the heart to do my cheeks but my arms, underarms and top lip and chin are completely hair free.

I feel so much confident going out now. I really do recommend it to anyone with a visible hair problem.
