eBay.

0.025% to start off, twice a week, build up slowly.

Wear proper sunblock everyday & don't sunbathe.

I use an eBay seller called healthnbeautyexpress. It comes from Thailand, so delivery takes a while, but the product is good. I have re-bought many times and am always happy.

I have built up to 0.025% twice a week and 0.05% once a week.

I'm a novice to anti ageing products but have a new obsession interest. What is Retin A for and does it work?

Sorry to derail the thread. My problem areas are mild crows feet and horrid lines above my top lip look like a heavy smoker unless I smile all day long

Okay retin a totally settled my skin down (no pimples at all) and made it very smooth. It got rid of a small brownish coloured spot on my cheek. It definitely has reduced the size of my pores on my nose. It has helped with my crows feet and fine lines near my mouth.

However, I don't think it has had a major impact on my 11s and I am not be able to use it on my top lip. It agitates the the delicate skin near my top lip, so I avoid applying it in this area.

Over all though I am very happy with the results and honestly think it's been my best beauty buy.

Does it help with wrinkles, i have one deep ish frown between my forehaed, i always try to wear a fringe to cover it, otherwise i am not too wrinkly but a tad lack of elacticity, almost 50 Yikes. What does it really help with?

I have also just been perusing ebay sellers and am going to give it a go on the back of the other thread mentioning it.

I am such a sheep. Grin

I am also nearly 50 sprout, and the only real wrinkles are the n11s and the crows feet.

I believe retin a is the only topical thing that actually reduces wrinkles. I'm considering getting some for my crow's feet.

Botox for the 11s. Quick, simple and effective.

To risk sounding stupid what are the n11s? I had forgotton all about retin a, it was so big when i lived in the States in the 90s everybody was using it. Im sorry i did not start then. I am tad worried about the side effects, the peeling and irratation that follows and it can take up to a year to see results. I was just watching a Youtuve clip on it. I think i will try it too as it not expesnive. My new year resolution to myslef was, not spending anymore money on things that i cannot afford and that do not work. I am a sucker for make up product and shampoos.

Not interested in going down the botox route but thanks.
Just a bit worried about buying from ebay although thanks for that sellers name. I am not a novice at buying things from ebay. I have bought many creams [boots protect and perfect] but with Retin A, i am a bit cautious. worry about the contents not being what they say so would rather buy from the UK? Is there anywhere that sells it online over here?

11's are the two vertical wrinkles between the eyebrows

IMportant to apply retinA sparingly and onto dry skin to avoid the flaky peeling side effects
worth washing your face , leaving for a while so your skin reverts to its normal ph then applying

Do you only put it on at night?

Report
ggirl · 14/02/2015 22:16

yes , only a few times a week , you need to build it up
Im no expert btw, i used to use it regularly and did notice a difference ..then i got lazy . Will start using it again I think

Would also love to know where it can be purchased !

Used to use it when you could get it over here (UK) and yes, you need to build it up, take a day or two break to start with, and expect your skin to appear dry/flaky at first. Then....amazing!

Pleas be careful and investigate the warnings WRT not using whilst trying to conceive, etc.
