what casual day shoes for march/april?

will you still being wearing flat boots etc or will you have transitioned to a shoe?

We are going away for a city break the first week of the easter hols. looking at the weather charts it will be highs of 10 and most likely rain at some point every day.

I'm packing light. mix and match of leggings, long tunic tops and long cardigans., and a rain coat. I don't need an evening outfits as we have a small child.

I was thinking of wearing my trusty flat boots, as they are great for comfort and walking, but wondered if they would look a bit wintery. Ballet flats as an alternative but I know you are supposed to wear them without socks and I get cold feet, or a canvas type pump, but I wondered if they would get wet. can you wear socks with canvas pumps?

thanks in advance

I'm thinking of getting leather converse for spring.

you'll be a laughing stock in ballet slippers or canvas pumps, and have cold damp feet.

wear the boots.

I bought these last week, I'm going on a European sight seeing weekend soon, and had a similar dilemma. For lots of walking, you need to avoid something completely flat. Ok, so in an ideal world I'd like some thing a little dressier for daytime wear, but I'm determined to be comfy. I work on the basis that if your outfit is smart/modern/groomed, then you can get away with slightly sensible shoes for sight seeing.

Thanks for the links and great advice. I definitely agree that comfort is key. My new hotter catalogue has just arrived so I'm going to have a look in there too.

I would definitely take the boots and probably some canvad trainers in case the sun comes out. That's what I always take for easter holidays and normally just wear boots as hate having cold wet feet.

I am wearing pointy black flats but also flat boots on wet days.

I tend to use the car though, so go for something like a flat boot I think.

These sketchers ones mentioned in the other thread linked on here look quite good.

I have the sketcher bungee trainers mentioned by yazzy85. I've had them about 3 years and they are still my go to for comfort. Fabulous and highly recommended.

I will probably still be wearing ankle boots and will transition once the weather is a bit warmer.

I'm on the quest for some tan loafers for spring. Thinking they will be more substantial than a ballet shoe and should look nice with dark coloured chinos if the weather is nice enough.

We're away over Easter too. I'll be taking my new shoes but also flat ankle boots to wear with jeans as the weather is so unpredictable at that time of year.

spaghetti I'm also looking for some tan loafers for spring, however I've found so many pairs that I like, I'm spoilt for choice!

Take the trusty comfy boots.
I wear ankle boots or leather converse until the weather properly warms up and definitely if it's raining as I walk a lot here.
Where are you going?

I have KG loafers I find work well with skinnies and skirts, however not sure about walking around in them for hours on end.
I have 2 pairs of Chelsea type boots and biker boots I prefer for days when I m out and about- I wear them right into summer tbh!
I have tried and tried to get on board with trainers / cons/ superga/ type shoes but feel they are just not me. I feel they make any outfit look undone below the ankles! When I wear them I feel inherently wrong!

Sebago leather loafers are incredible to walk in! They would be my first choice for a spring city break. A huge range of colours too.
