I love my shiny plain patent DMs so I am biased and would say go plain!

GreenMouse Thu 29-Jan-15 09:21:30

Sorry those links don't work for me...
You're not ordering via the Dr Marten's website?

Anyway, I like Dr Marten's just not the flowery or patent ones....

Sorry I'm not being very helpful here am I smile

Think they are more versatile tbh. I think the patterned ones look lovely but they arent leather [canvas] and would tie me to what i could actually wear..but they are nice on!!! I tried on the patent ones and the tongue annoyed me in them. Maybe it was the laces that needed to be adjusted or because they were new and a bit stiff?

BiscuitsAreMyDownfall Thu 29-Jan-15 09:23:10

I would go plain, but I do like the flowery one.

I have some red ones, but I would also like some purple ones too.

Didn't know Next did Dr Martens.

Greengardenpixie Thu 29-Jan-15 09:23:55

I ordered them to try on via next but tbh would look for them cheaper elsewhere. Not from the Dr Martens website..they are much more expensive. Btw, which ones do you like then? Just the plain black ones?

Branleuse Thu 29-Jan-15 09:27:41

i think you really need both pairs

Branleuse Thu 29-Jan-15 09:29:06

the patent ones will be sweaty in the summer and the canvas ones will be only ok for good weather.
You either need both pairs or a pair of normal leather ones

Greengardenpixie Thu 29-Jan-15 09:29:27

ha ha ha.....yeh...and tbh, if i keep the flowery pair, i will definetly order the patent cheap from somewhere later on. Maybe thats the best idea??? Strangely, i cant get that flowery design anywhere else. They are really beautfiful.

ladymalfoy Thu 29-Jan-15 09:33:57

Agree with Bran.
If we all have several different styles of black shoes, why not more than one pair of Docs?

Greengardenpixie Thu 29-Jan-15 09:38:17

Yes, totally agree about both pairs. Think i may actually keep the patterned ones and get a pair of plain ones cheaper elsewhere. Simply because i cant find that print anywhere else. Or cheaper anywhere else.

GreenMouse Thu 29-Jan-15 09:38:54

Dr Martens have a sale on now, worth looking at. Some of the flowery "Pascal" types are reduced from £110 to £75, but as I can't access your links I can't tell which ones you like smile

Also if you go to the Dr Martens website through link{
\Top CashBack} you get 7% or so cashback, so it's worth having a look at the website. Schuh also have usually quite good prices on DMs, also worth a look.

As for myself I like the classic DM in plain black yes, also the Lauren, the Aimilita and the Triumph 1914. I live in my DMs smile

GreenMouse Thu 29-Jan-15 09:40:12

sorry totally messed ut the TopCashBack link, here it is again

Greengardenpixie Thu 29-Jan-15 09:40:26

What about these?

Nicer or not as nice as the Next print ones?

Greengardenpixie Thu 29-Jan-15 09:42:33

Green mouse, thanks for that info. The flowery print ones were ordered from the next website. I cant find that particular print anywhere atm. But i had my eye on a much cheaper pair from ebay [ see link above] What do you think?

ladymalfoy Thu 29-Jan-15 09:44:05

Cheers,GGP! I'm on the website of my home towns DM stockists .
Now I'm havering between three designs. blush

BeCool Thu 29-Jan-15 09:44:28

I love DM's - wear them most days but I would NEVER wear flowery ones, so my vote is for patent.

GreenMouse Thu 29-Jan-15 09:45:16

oooh I like these! the print is quite subtle isn't it? good price too... I am tempted...

GreenMouse Thu 29-Jan-15 09:45:45

Sadly they don't have my size sad

Greengardenpixie Thu 29-Jan-15 09:46:27

Yes the print is quite subtle. Thats whats tempting me.....

Enormouse Thu 29-Jan-15 09:47:07

Both, buy both. grin

I have a floral pink pair and a black pair.

Greengardenpixie Thu 29-Jan-15 09:48:44

Ok so out of the two flowery pairs, which ones are the nicest?

GreenMouse Thu 29-Jan-15 09:54:54

oh my giddy aunt look at these, shame they're not in the sale...

GreenMouse Thu 29-Jan-15 09:57:13

Is it these that you like on the Next website pixie? If so then I prefer the ones from Ebay.

I didn't even know you could get DMs from Next!
