Not on dark circles, but a fab MAC lady showed me how to put red lipstick on a bluey/purple large scar to conceal it, which worked like magic

There is a YouTube vid of a girl using an orangey eyeshadow to cancel out eye circles (under her foundation). It worked really well and the texture is preferable to lippie I imagine.
