How often do you wash your clothes?

I don't mean underwear and stuff that is obviously washed every day but things like tops, trousers, skirts etc. I tend to wear trousers, leggings etc twice and then wash them, tights get washed every time, tops and dresses not as often.

Just wondering what is classed as normal with everyone. I consider myself as clean and fresh smelling yet some people say they never wear a top twice without washing it and I feel if I did that my clothes would wear out more quickly.

jeans are the only item I don't wash after every wear. oh, and sweatshirts that are layered over other clothing and therefore don't touch my skin.

tops, pj's, leggings etc all get washed after one wear.

Underwear, tights and vest tops (basically anything which is the proper first layer against skin that gets sweaty/gross) everytime. Jumpers, skirts, dresses, jeans - whenever I notice a mark. I have some skirts which have only been washed a handful of times, but they get worn over tights so I just don't see how they need washing.

Agree, jeans I might wear 3 or 4 times also dry clean trousers, everything is washed after one wear.

I wear a top once or twice depending on the armpit sniff test. So that usually translates to twice in the winter, once in the summer.

Most things.

Something that sits right in my armpits would get washed after one wear. Cardigans, jumpers, jeans get worn a few times if fresh smelling and unmarked.

Dcs have usually wiped snot or sticky hands on most things within an hour of wear though.

Underwear (pants and socks) - daily, bras less often
Tops - one or two wears
Trousers - after a few wears
Jumpers - less often

Do you find that washing clothes every time wears them out quicker?

Exactly this although tops after every wear as I walk everywhere and sweat.

Knickers and socks - daily
Bras - after 2 wears
Tops - daily
Trousers and jeans - after 2 wears
Jumpers and cardis not in contact with the skin - after 2 wears.

Yes, I do think that washing clothes does damage them, eventually.

Pants, socks, tights and tops - 1 wear
Trousers and jeans - 2-4 wears
Bras and pjs - 2 wears
Knitwear, always worn over the top of something, so as long as I can get away with, as washing seems to wear out knitwear.
Washable coats - yearly in the summer.

Apart from knitwear, I wash everything after one wear.

When it's dirty, so tights or vests under my armpits, probably one wear, jeans could be 7/10/20 wears (washing knackers jeans), jumpers, skirts rarely/never.

Knickers- a day or half a day at times.
Bras- a couple of days at least unless doing anything really sweaty.
Socks- 1 wear though sometimes 2 if I'm at home all day.
Jeans, trousers, dresses , anything worn over underwear- I wear for several times because they are simply not dirty or sweaty. I only wash wool knitwear when it's starting to smell of perfume ( stale) or cooking smells.

I do wash clothes like trousers and jeans if I've been travelling on public transport and clothes have been in contact with the seats or near loo seats etc.

I always get the impression from MN that other people wash clothes too often. But then I am fussy about things like towels and bedding which is washed weekly at least.

Everything washed after every wear except jeans, which are washed when they are dirty/start to smell Blush

Depends. If I've been out and about and got muddy, or spilled something, then it's straight to the wash. So gym kit is washed more often.

Otherwise, probably two or three times. If I'm about to put a load on, I will put in anything suitable, so my blue work trousers were washed after only one wear when I did some laundry at the weekend, but the could have gone for a couple more days.

Things do get aired between wearings.

I wear most things a couple of times before washing. Trousers and jeans get quite a few wears before a wash. Jumpers the same. In the summer things usually need a wash after each wear.
Of course underwear and tights are washed after each wear.

My dc's clothes are washed after each wear as they are grubby. I am quite clean and don't smell (too much!)

Everything is washed after every where except jeans as I only wear them occasionally in the winter. It's not that cold here so I don't wear them often. I am in Australia so can get washing on the line every day. I only wear jeans for 1/2 of the day. I take them off when I get home into gym wear or pajamas as I can't sit about & relax in jeans.
Cardigans aren't washed that often as are only worn if a bit cold & are over another top.

I was work clothes every day thanks to the commute on trains and tube they always feel really grimy. I don't buy anything dry clean only for work because of this.

Wow, you lot wash a lot! I don't smell or sweat hardly ever so might wear a bra for 4/5 days. Does that make me skanky?
At the mo, my entire outfit goes in the wash every day as young dcs get stuff on me all the time. Their clothes plus PJS are also washed after one wear.
When not being attacked by dcs, I will wear vests twice, t-shirts and tops once or twice depending on how much they crease, and jeans for as long as I can get away with as I think washing ruins the colour.
Knitwear, I'll try and wear 3/4 times as I also think washing ruins it.
I am clearly a skank!

Blouses, tops & t-shirts I would generally wash after wearing once unless I had just worn it for a couple of hours in an evening for example in which case I might stick it back in the wardrobe

Jeans, skirts & trousers I can usually last for several wearings assuming nothings spilt on them etc

Knitwear I can last even longer and get washed even more infrequently

Anything that goes against my armpits once (tees etc). Jumpers, skirts or jeans after three wears.
