Jeans that stretch too much

I am currently trying to decide between two sizes of skinny jeans from next. The smaller size I can do up but really are quite tight whereas the bigger size fit nicely. What to do!! If I keep the bigger size can I take them back if they stretch too much and go all baggy while I wear them?

I find Next jeans dreadful for 'over-stretching' after a few hours of wearing. And Gap too. I don't see why you couldn't take them back if they really stretch. At the worst they'd probably exchange them.

Thanks institute. I might keep the larger size as they fit really nicely and exchange for the smaller size if they stretch excessively. I hate jeans shopping!

I asked this exact question in Topshop. I bought one pair (fitted me perfectly) and they stretched ridiculously. I wanted another pair and asked for advice and they told me to always size down. I can just about get the zip up when I put them on initially but they fit fine within an hour. It also means I don't have to wash them after every wear.

I also hate jean shopping. My go-to ones for not stretching (I once wore a pair for a week (don't ask!) and they fitted as well at the end of the week. They'd only stretched the tiniest bit), not fading and for being flattering are Oasis Cherry Bodysculpt. They're a bit pricey but they wash and wear really well.

I agree, My next ones are absolutely shocking! Its one of the reasons I cancelled my account with them as they're materials are an absolute joke for the prices they charge.

I have better primark ones that lasted longer and cost less than half the price.

It they are thin or stretchy then size down. If they are rigid denim then go for the bigger of the two sizes. I take a 6-8 if they're thin or stretchy, and a 10 if they're rigid.

Oh, and totally agree that next charge too much for nasty fabric. I'd really recommend New Look for jeans. Good thick material, wash well, well priced and fashionable washes / styles.

I wore the bigger size last night and they were fine but was only in them for a couple if hours. Hope I haven't made a mistake!! I too find next a bit hit and miss but it is so convenient when you have an account. I just order loads to try on at home and take back what I don't need. I probably wouldn't shop there nearly so much if it wasn't so easy. They have really nailed the online shopping thing I think.

How do you know whether jeans will stretch? I've been caught out so many times - especially when I buy the smaller size, expecting them to stretch, and they don't, leaving me with unwearable trousers.
