I've been shopping away since 27 December to get bargains in the sales. The standard of customer service and time to deliver has ben very variable though. Special thanks to:

Brora - Delivered at 9.23 am this morning, ordered 10pm 6 January, standard delivery. They were very polite to me when I rang up and asked what time the sale started on the internet.

Toast - 2 days to deliver, lovely box.

Jigsaw - sent grovelling email saying delivery would be delayed then delivered in 3 days anyway.

Dreadful:

Cos - took 11 days to deliver, no communication at all. The print on the web site is so pale it is difficult to read. I really thought my stuff had gone missing.

My Cos stuff took forever as well (ordered 23rd Dec, arrived Monday this week) but got their shipment confirmation the next day. The delay was with the courier firm in Hamburg, went into hiatus over the holidays basically. I usually find Cos stuff arrives within the week, even from Germany.

Agree their website leaves something to be desired though (don't get me started on the styling...!)

Hush, Zara and Atterley Road have all been very good on sales delivery over the holidays.

Toast were absolutely amazing the first time i ordered. Next day delivery. Felt as if i had just ordered it and there it was in the morning ready to wear!!!!
Then i ordered something this week..2 days but still good smile
White stuff took a while....about a week on their standard delivery. Took an age to say shipped.
I have to say i usually pay the extra for express delivery cause i really cba waiting forever for something and like to know when it will come.
Seasalt...fantastic too...next day delivery but just standard cost.
House of fraser...again, really quick.

VictorineMeurent Thu 08-Jan-15 12:46:04

Yes, House of Fraser tell me my order from Monday is on its way, which is pretty god for bog standard high street standard delivery.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel Thu 08-Jan-15 12:54:50

I didn't fare terribly well, more bad than good.

The good :

Flannels - 2 days
Goat - 2 days

The mediocre :

Yankee Candle - 4 days

The bad :

Emma Bridgewater - 10 days shock
House of Fraser - 8 days
SpaceNK - 8 & 9 days (2 orders)
Notonthehighstreet - 16 days, though that was a custom order

MegMogandOwlToo Thu 08-Jan-15 13:26:08

Oasis - amazing. Used seek and send, everything wrapped in tissue paper and arrived two days later.

Burton - slower than quoted, not packaged very well, it looked as though they just stuffed everything in the bag, whether it would fit or not.

Paperchase- still waiting! Very slow.

John Lewis am- very fast delivery and well packaged as always.

Debenhams - slower than quoted.

Asos - arrived a few days later than the stated delivery date, but this always happens. Customer service dire.

Dorothy Perkins - slow delivery and rubbish customer service. Poor quality items, they all went back. They've gone downhill lately, wouldn't be surprised if they were in trouble.

Toast: 2 days
Jules B: 3 days
Brora: 2 days
Net a porter: 3 days
Tory Burch: 5 days
HOF: 3 days to store

LittleG69 Thu 08-Jan-15 14:39:55

John Lewis, excellent as always. Fat Face, still waiting for an order to be shipped to store. Ordered on Christmas day, account debited Christmas day, no sign of order. Rubbish.

Shopbop, brilliant. Less than a week over Christmas from the USA.

LightastheBreeze Thu 08-Jan-15 14:40:43

Boden 2 days standard delivery on 2 occasions, very pleased.
John Lewis - 1 day to Waitrose store.
M&S - 1 or 2 days to store
Clarks - 3 days
Dorothy Perkins - 5 days std delivery - everything went back.
Next sale quoted about a month just to collect sale stuff in store so I didn't bother, some stuff had waits of up to 10 weeks.

burnishedsilver Thu 08-Jan-15 14:45:41

Mint velvet. Dispatched within hours. Delivery within 2 days. Nicely presented package. Happy customer.

leedy Thu 08-Jan-15 14:48:51

Shopbop are brilliant, incredibly fast even though they're coming from the US. Toast usually good too.

Cos can be pretty slow and they're really slow processing returns. Gap have got pretty bad as well for returns, though delivery still reasonably prompt.

Greengardenpixie Thu 08-Jan-15 15:38:14

littleG69 thats a long time to wait...i think i would be emailing fatface.

LittleG69 Thu 08-Jan-15 15:50:24

green I did. Response was 'it can take 4-6 days to arrive at the store once its left the warehouse'. Presumably they use an asthmatic carrier pigeon to deliver them. Would never use again, especially as they were quick to take my money angry

Greengardenpixie Thu 08-Jan-15 15:55:15

Reminds me of Cath kidston...never again. Took about 10 days to arrive once and it wasnt even in the sale!

TooSpotty Thu 08-Jan-15 15:59:39

Gap astonished me. Ordered 22 December, free delivery but 3-5 business days, it wasn't at all urgent so quite happy to wait till after Christmas. Arrived next day.

Kernowgal Thu 08-Jan-15 18:52:23

House of Fraser - 2 days but no thanks to Yodel and their bizarre delivery system. Unfortunately I have had to send it all back as none of it fitted!

swooosh Thu 08-Jan-15 18:54:59

Zara - ordered midnight Christmas/boxing day. Arrived 27th morning.

HelpMeGetOutOfHere Thu 08-Jan-15 19:01:31

M&s - 3 days to store despite allowing me to choose next day to store at time of order.
Fat face - 4 days
Mulberry - 1 day

Net a porter - 1 day
Matalan - 4 days

dexter73 Thu 08-Jan-15 19:53:22

My Whistles order came the next day and that was with free delivery. Very impressed.

Saurus72 Thu 08-Jan-15 20:16:37

Uber impressed with Whistles too Dexter. I ordered 2pm Tuesday 30th, and was delivered 10am the next day. My Cos and & Other Stories orders took 13 days to get here. Boden took 2 days, and John Lewis was next day delivery to Waitrose. Sounds like I had similar experiences to everyone else!

Ujjayi Thu 08-Jan-15 20:37:36

Boden order arrived 11.30am after a 4pm order the day before (22nd Dec). I did use express delivery but was impressed how speedy it was. Returned items on Monday & received acknowledgement/refund email today.

ASOS: ordered 22nd for next day delivery with an evening slot. Arrived on time. Returned on Monday & received confirmation/refund email Wednesday.

Toast - ordered Saturday, arrived today.

Zara - also ordered Saturday. No despatch email as yet.

melodycool Thu 08-Jan-15 20:57:47

Coast - ordered over the phone from the Oxford street store, arrived beautifully packaged the next day. Had to return and they telephoned the next day to confirm refund.
Zara - 1st order placed 5 past midnight on 26th, arrived on the 29th. 2nd order placed 15 minutes later, arrived January 4th!!
Me&M - delivered in 2 days
Cos - took over 2 weeks!

MakeMeWarmThisWinter Thu 08-Jan-15 21:26:13

Uniqlo - arrived next day.
Asos - next day as usual.

Cos are always awful delivery wise but I forgive them as I love their clothes.

I want to know what exciting bargains were had from NaP, Flannels, Tory Burch et al!

awfulomission Thu 08-Jan-15 21:39:33

Toast - super fast 2/3 days
Boden same.
Gap - 4ish days and a quick refund on return purchase.

M&S - terrible! Bought some things for DS and it came in 3 separate packages about 12 days after purchase. One didn't arrive at all. V poor.
