Bra help please!

Hello, hoping some of the brilliant bra experts on here can advise.

I think I'm wearing roughly the right size according to the intervention method. (Sorry to anyone hoping for a "wearing a 38A but actually needs a 32F type transformation"!) I measure 34 inches exactly under my boobs and between 47 and 48 inches around my boobs when I do the 90 degree dangle. (Yep, I'm huge of nork!) My bras are predominantly a 34J so in line with what my measurements suggest I think except possibly one size too small in the cup.

But my bras don't feel like they fit especially well. The central gore sticks out a bit and I often get a bit of boob spilling over the top of the cup one side. The bra doesn't seem to sit under my boobs properly; the wire and a couple of cm of cup are flat against my rib cage under my boobs. Basically it feels like my boobs aren't secure and they could make a bid for freedom at any time!

I've tried putting my bra on backwards to check the band. It feels fairly snug and I can pull it no more than an inch or two away from my body.

I'm going to send off for new bras soon so does anyone have any suggestions what to try? Larger cup? Larger cup and smaller band? Different style? I have the issues I've described with the Bravissimo Alana and Fantasie Elodie. Strangely, my best fitting bra currently is a Fantasie Karina in 34H which makes me wonder if it's a style issue.

Sorry for the essay and thanks to those still reading!

Ok, it sounds like the band is probably Ok. It could be that you need a bigger cup but I'm actually suspecting a shape issue -it sounds like you have orange in a glass syndrome, where your boobs aren't getting right down to the bottom of the cup. Does that make sense? What are the wires like under your arms, are they wider than your breast tissue?

Yep, orange in a glass is spot on! It's like there's spare cup space at the bottom but my boobs can't get into it so spill out the top. The wires under my arms are wider than my breast tissue in the Alana I'm wearing now. (I'm in a public place so I'm doing some surreptitious feeling!)

Ok, you need a narrower cup, with more depth. Do you know if you have more fullness on the top or bottom of your breasts?

I'd say they're fuller at the bottom

Have you tried anything by Cleo, the Cleo Lily/Millie/Minnie/Zia/Melissa/Bella (and other sister styles but not Lucy!) are good for narrower wires and greater cup depth. The Cleo Marcie is a lovely bra too, although it suits more balanced/fuller on top breasts IME. Bravissimo own brand has some narrower wires - the dotty spot, bloomsbury, kiss kiss and wild at heart spring to mind. The other fab narrow wires are found in polish bra brands, but I would try the UK ones first to get a better idea of what really works.

No, I don't remember trying anything by Cleo, at least not recently and post DC!

Thank you so much for your help. I'll order some of those styles and see how I get on.
