Wild, colourful, different (but elegant) shoes to go with a lbd please

Going to a party. A normal 40th at a hotel function room. DH and his best friend are (for reasons I will not go into here Grin ) going dressed up. Big style, statement fancy dress.

There is no dress code as such - but am guessing lbd is a safe bet. I love my lbd. Understated. Elegant. Hides the flabby bits. Do not want to go to the expense of a new dress. And for similar reasons to why DH going in fancy dress I want to play the outfit fairly safe.

But god it feels a little bit dull. especially next to the flamboyant ones The neckline of the dress means I cannot liven it up a bit with a statement necklace. I could try a bracelet - but again - anything to chunky/statement ruins the look the dress is aiming for. The dress is actually perfect. With my black heels I will feel great. But dull. The one time I felt super brilliant is when I wore it with some bright pink heels (on a hen do so not quite as tacky as it sounds). It really livened the whole outfit.

Do not want to do the pink shoes again (too scuffed and meh). But I think I would like to liven up the whole outfit with something a bit different.

So, size 5. Not tooo high (though can cope for the length of a party).
I do have wide feet though - so not too strappy.
Also have slim ankles so not too chunky (looks wrong).
Budget - hmmm...Sale bargains gratefully received. Will consider up to £70...

Am about to start googling myself - but intrigued and would love to see anything S&B gurus may have seen recently please. Flowers

Not sure if it'll blow the budget, but they might have a sale on. Try united nude - I have a few pairs of their shoes and they have always impressed!

Wow, those united nude ones are fab though some are too wild and yep over budget.

Height wise - am OK with the 11cm actually. Think I would just rather avoid anything too platformy iyswim

Love the chunky ones - but really, truly I look awful in chunky shoes. Wonder if I could take a hack saw to them Grin

Aware they are marmite on here, and some styles are really quite hideous, but Irregular Choice?
I bought a pair of their least flamboyant looking shoes for a wedding last year and they fit my wide size 8s fine.

How about Mojito by Julian Hakes?
I've tried them on and they're surprisingly comfy and flattering but my arches are too high.

Brilliant Grin some of those would go with DH"s hideous outfit better than mine. Love quite a few of those (once I got over the shock of some of them). Am currently trying to resist the scottie dog ones (not for the lbd just because I like them).

I'm a big fan of leopardprint shoes with black dresses.

Although red suede would be knockout.

Slim ankles would look fantastic in these but not sure if they'd be wide enough.

I agree with the leopard print, liven up a black dress and can be worn again with lots of other things e.g jeans.

Yes yes to the red suede- delicious!

Electric blue suede goes well with lbd's if you spot any.
