Recommendation for a good hairdresser in London?

I have very fine hair, which is typically cut in a graduated angular bob. My hairdresser has just gone back to her home country, and I am stuck. Went to a recommended local one, and she butchered my hair. 5 weeks later- another one, and another terrible job.
Can anyone recommend a hairdresser in London who is very good at cutting fine, straight hair? I am desperate...

Try Taylor taylor, the best haircuts I've had. There's a few branches but I like spitalfields.

Budget is up to £100 (knowing London prices) - I need haircuts every 4-5 weeks, so it is quite an outlay. But desperate...

Percy and Reed are really nice. Lacey is 89 pounds. Saw two Spice girls there when I went!

Ian at Charles worthington in Covent Garden is fab at cutting and good fun. I just can't afford to keep going to him

Nick at Haringtons in Soho is brilliant and an absolutely lovely man. I have a similar haircut to you and always get loads of compliments on the cut.

Re tipping, I usually give around 10%, rounded up. When I pay around £80 or so, I'd leave a tenner with my regular stylist.

I can recommend Lino at Daniel Galvins, but he is probably out of your budget at £150 for a 30 minute appointment. I don't tip him, but always give a tenner to his assistant. I am now living in Istanbul and with blow-dries costing as little as £3 I usually give around £5 in total.

Mia at Windle and Moodie in Covent Garden. She is lovely and knows exactly what suits your face and hair. I've never had a haircut that I was truly happy with till I went to her. She isn't the cheapest, but is really good at low maintenance cuts-,if that's what you're after- So you don't have to go so often.

I had a dreadful couple of experiences ( stupid to go back) at Taylor and Taylor. I found they were more interested in trends than my life style or hair. That was a few years back and maybe their ethos he changed.

I also highly recommend Mia at Windle in Covent Garden. Not seen her for about 10 years (am amazed she's still there!), but she really is everything that PP says.

I used to go to worthingtons when I lived in london and always had a very good cut and I have thick fine hair

Sorry to hijack but who would you recommend as a hairdresser for a laidback slightly mature person like me- as I'm thinking of going down to London in the new year and thought I might get a haircut while I'm down there.

I am as you describe and would still recommend Aveda or Worthingtons in Covent Garden. Wouldn't recommend Galvin ( though have also been to Lino there, who cuts David Cameron's hair btw) because they aren't laid back enough for my taste.

I currently go to George Northwood in Wells St and recommend - but he is really £££. (Can't really afford him!).

I was thinking of Windle's as it's close to where I work - so will see if i can book Mia for a cut/shaping, seems they take 3.5 hours for a full head on top so don't think i can fit all that in on my lunch hour :-)

Hi, nelly, do let us know how you get on at Worthingtons. As I said, I used to go to Jess, but I'm sure there are other good people there.It has a nice atmosphere, I think. Stylish and friendly but not over-glitzy and 'posh' as, for me, Galvin's is.

Poly I'm very tempted but I'm wondering whether to wait til my hair has grown a bit as it's about the base of my ear lobes in length and cut into the back of my head. I'm going to London about the 2nd week of Jan to see the Turner and the Rembrandt exhibitions before they finish and my hair might not be long enough for a hairdresser to get their teeth into it to justify such a quality cut. Maybe I'll leave it til the summer and go to Worthingtons then. What do you think?
