Why does my ring keep breaking?

Dh bought me a ring from a high street jeweler for my birthday in September. Not very expensive but it was still a lot of money for us.

In November one of the claws snapped off so I took it back to the shop and they sent it off to be repaired. Got it back at the start of this month and I've just noticed the same claw has snapped off again . I do wear it every day but I've been so careful to take it off every time I do anything which could damage it (cooking, washing up, cleaning, Etc) since the last time it happened.

Is this normal for a ring that's worn every day or is there likely to be a fault with it that's causing this? I want to exchange it for another one which doesn't keep breaking, but don't know whether it's me or the ring!

Did you buy the correct size or did you get it resized?
If you got it resized by 3+ sizes it can affect the way the settings sit.
If its broken again. I'd ask for a new one rather than another repair.

No, that that isn't normal. Under consumer law you should be able to argue the ring isn't fit for purpose and get a refund/exchange for a different style.

Glad it's not just me having unrealistic expectations! I think I'd rather go with a different ring, maybe I can find one that's a bit sturdier looking.

Not sure whether it was sized down, I expect it probably was, but I will have to check with Dh as I wasn't there when he bought it. I hadn't thought about sizing down causing problems but that does make sense.
