A really lovely long classic quality winter coat from somewhere like Burberry.

santamarianovella Sat 06-Dec-14 12:08:13

I'd wait for the NAP or matches sales, they are just around the corner, and get a really good coat, boots and scarf.

polyhymnia Sat 06-Dec-14 12:12:00

I'd first get a great haircut if I hadn't got one already. And a couple of perfectly fitted (eg at Rigby and Peller) bras. Your hair and bra are always with you, whatever you're wearing.

Then spend what's left on clothes- what you need most out of following: good coat, boots, bag, quality jeans, cashmere sweater.

Laser hair removal for underarms, legs and bikini line
A holiday
A new outfit and hairstyle

SteveBrucesNose Sat 06-Dec-14 12:21:41

Burberry trenchcoat. I adore mine. Shame I don't live somewhere cold enough to wear it a lot so it's for holidays only

SweetsForMySweet Sat 06-Dec-14 12:24:05

You could put it in a high interest deposit account for a year or two to increase the amount so you could get more from it

SageSeymour Sat 06-Dec-14 12:26:37

A Brora cashmere coat, Acne pistol boots and Botox

mowglik Sat 06-Dec-14 12:41:42

I'd get a lovely winter coat, and a nice bag

bonhomme Sat 06-Dec-14 16:36:29

Quality coat, boots and bag if I were you

carlywurly Sat 06-Dec-14 17:27:52

Some or all of following

Good quality, well fitted jeans.
Bag.
Boots.
Belt.
Coat.
Watch.

In the sales you should be able to nail all of this for £1000. Go for simple, classic styles and the best quality you can get and it will all last years. Enjoy smile

A Max Mara coat. I'd wait for the sale and get a really gorgeous one.

MarshaBrady Sat 06-Dec-14 19:07:35

The sales will be on very soon. Do you need a coat? And boots.

MakeMeWarmThisWinter Sat 06-Dec-14 19:55:03

Coat and boots in sales, and a necklace from Tiffany.

Have fun and do update us!

Pay it off the mortgage.

A couple of pairs of jeans that fit really well; black and very dark wash.
A couple of pretty jumpers, all mine are sweatshirts with slogans on or quite baggy.
Some good quality black boots. I desperately need some and can't afford them.
New trainers, probably nike airs.
I've only spent about £300 there. Maybe spend the rest of a diamond collar for my dog? grin

Right now I'd take a holiday, just me, and figure out who I am and what i want without sans work/children/demands of everyday life etc confusing me! Mulberry handbag - really???

polyhymnia Sat 06-Dec-14 21:13:43

Yes to Max Mara coat, no to vastly over rated Mulberry and, especially, Tiffany.

A diamond eternity ring. My grandpa passed away & left me exactly that, I bought a beautiful vintage 7 stone one & every time I look at it I remember both my adorable grandparents. I love it...

I had £3000 a couple of years ago (cashed in some shares) .

I bought some household things, paid for some meals out, put a fair amount in the joint account and - for me- spent £££ on a beautiful, privately done dental crown that I still love grin

A holiday. A holiday with lots of massage and reflexology.

Get something made. A great dress, a lovely coat, amazing shoes,a piece of jewellery...then it will be unique and you will have that experience too.

Anything left over I would spend on either getting your hair or your nails done every so often over the rest of the year.
