Well i like them both but if you want to get a number of years out of it...go for the plain navy. The tartan will date.

Duffle. The other one looks shabby but not in a good way IMO. I do like tartan in general though.

I have a Gloverall Duffle - the classic duffle co - www.gloverall.com.

Just to throw another one into the mix! Their sizing is very traditional, i.e. a 10 is a true 10 and not a vanity ten.

They do a range of styles, I have the long slim fit which I absolutely love - reckon it will outlive me.

They are both quite nice but the second one is better, in my opinion. I'd go for that one (the plain blue one)!

I really like both, but if pushed I would go for the duffle (and would buy a nice checked scarf to make up for not getting the first coat)!

I only say the plain coat as someone who has bought patterned coats and gone off them very quickly.

I think plain is better, but I don't like the plain navy one here because I hate coats with hoods.

Can you find a nice hoodless plain one? Do they do the check one in a plain colour?
