My hair looks shit, tell me what to do

Most of me looks shit (overweight but a small baby = big stretch marky belly, knackered and look it!) but my hair I can fix, at least.

Its currently brown with grey bits, collar length, with an outgrown side fringe. I have a very high forehead so the side fringe makes the other side look baldy. My hair is fine, and doing the delightful post pregnancy falling out in clumps routine. I need a haircut and colour that will make me look less shit but doesn't need lots of styling. Any good ideas of what to ask for/links to photos greatly appreciated.
