I'm not a kick in the arse off 40! I have dull muddy lank dry hair. It's a shitty shape too after a fuck up hair cut. Too heavy at front makes me old! I can't afford to change the colour yet but wonder is there something I can do to liven it up a bit and how do I stop tats forming at the back of my neck. Also what can I do to the non fringe thing to get it off my face. Looking forward to ur pearls of wisdom. tIA

Don't put yourself down, it's a lovely colour and I think the basic shape is there. Just needs to be a bit shorter and fuller and it will look even better.

Hi, I think your hair is nice. If it was me, I would go a shade blonder (highlights) and put a few clip in hair extensions underneath to add volume. Lovely.

Not helpful really but I think you and your hair look really lovely as is. I only came into the Style section by mistake though but I definitely think looks lovely. And if it's dry it doesn't show but I guess that could feel annoying anyway- does conditioner for dry hair help?

I think you would suit blonder and shorter but you do look fine as you are! Too hard on yourself woman!

Yes I agree - it looks perfectly fine. Would be great if a little bit shorter and layered to give fullness :-)

I think your hair is a lovely colour too. Would you consider having it cut, so your hair clears your shoulders and is in a swingy style with lots of bounce?

I think you need to grow the fringe out and maybe have the back shorter - it needs to be softer around your face. I'm not sure what you can do in the mean time, play around at wearing it up in different styles, are you any good at putting a slight curl in it with straightners? It looks in fantastic condition though, even if you say it's dry, lovely shine on it.

I think I would go for a blunt cut bob for structure and maybe grow the swept fringe out ? That will get rid of the knots at the back of your neck.

I think the colour is actually really nice and looks natural and healthy.

You actually look great ! Don't be so hard on yourself !!

OMG ladies! Ye are better than Prozac! Ok gonna go get it cut this week. It feels dry and tangly at back of my neck. I'm totally sleep deprived so think that squews my opinion. Could I colour myself at home maybe?

Perhaps a bit darker for winter?

I agree that you have nothing to worry about: but you'd look great with it cut into long layered shoulder length. Highlights are expensive but they make such a difference ....and the fringe also just chopped up so from shorter towards the right it blends into the length on your left hand side? I'm actually jealous as you have the hair I would love.

I would take a trip to Boots and buy:

  • Loreal Elvive shampoo - fantastic at ticketing yr hair
  • Schwarzkopf Argan oil serum 2 B or something it's called (it's a dupe Moroccan oil)
  • Dry shampoo
  • sea salt spray
  • Simple Radiance day cream
  • Bourjois 123 foundation
  • Loreal Touché Magique concealer
  • a lipstick (or Maybelline Color Drama lip pencil in Keep It Classy)?

I wouldn't change the shape of your hair - a fringe slightly in the face is good, quite flattering. The Loreal Elvive will thick your hair, don't weight it down w conditioner, just one pump of that serum to detangle and add shine. Some sea salt spray for styling, and dry shampoo to add texture when you need to.

The make up recommendations are my current favourites, and are all v affordable and simple.

Actually, you. Don't have big shadows under your eyes, like I do, so might not need concealer. I'd frighten children without it. But maybe up the eyeliner and mascara.

Your eye brows are a great shape. A nice warm winter lipstick would look lovely.

You have lovely eyes. Eyelash tinting is not expensive and gives your lashes definition even on tired days. It's given me back my eyes! Grin

this sort of cut would make the best of your hair type and facial shape. I think your hair needs to have more volume at the crown and sides of the crown and taper in from there.

Colour wise it is lovely. Don't change a thing.

Make-up wise I suggest a brightening matte eyeshadow in cream across the lid without sparkle, eyeliner in chocolate brown and lipstick wise a nice warm toned semi sheer balm with a bit of sparkle to add volume.

I agree with belinda don't cut your hair, let it grow out,and have it cut properly by a good hairdresser. in the meantime, try to take good care of it,

And I don't think it makes you look old, from what I see you have good skin,

Not great photos, but I think these would suit you. I think you should keep the soft, natural look and feel that you have.
