Boots again - what to wear with these?

I'm always dithering about boots. Now think I'm going to buy these, which I've tried on and really like.

The thing is, I'd be wanting to wear tem with knit dresses, of which I have a few, in a style which flares from the waist. Does that sound OK?

Would also hope to wear them with my skinny jeans, but need to try them again to see if this works. Not keen on idea of tucking the skinnies into them, I think, so would have to see if they sit over the top.

Also might wear with my Boden Ponte Roma jersey trousers, which I possibly would tuck in.

Views, please. Don't want to shell out, then never find the right outfit to wear them with.

They look cheaper than their price tag and the sole looks really thin, I can't imagine they would be very comfortable or last very well. The brogue detail is nice, though.

I prefer Clarks Morgan Carla or Orinoco Hop, or Timberland Savin Hill Lace Chukka, or Hotter Shawbury (brogue detail but no laces though).

That said the Duo boots would go with the outfits you suggest. I wouldn't try to tuck trousers in.

To be honest I couldn't see them working with knit dresses but trousers yes. Knit dresses for me would be suede/leather fitted ankle or knee high boots

For me they wouldn't work with a knitted dress or with trousers tucked in
I'm wearing a lot of knitted dresses at moment if long I wear with knee length boots
If shorter I wear with thick woolly tights and small ankle boots nearly a shoe boot style

Actually, I do have some nice Russell and Bromley Zip Code suede ankle boots, close to shoe boots which look just righ with my knitted dresses and opaques/ wool tights:

But, as I'm just getting over a knee injury, wanted something even flatter than those. that I could walk about in all day without discomfort.

Don't usually go for Clarks, but the first pair do look interesting - thanks. Very prejudiced against Hotter but those Shawbury do offer Chelsea boot styling plus zip, so could well be worth a try. Like the look of Timberland ones, but am so wimpish/lazy I really want a zip, not just laces.

Would never tuck in skinnies or real trousers - should have said that the Boden ones are actually thick jeggings more than trousers.

The boots will look nice with trousers, I don't really like those type with skirts.

Personally, as someone who's had knee injuries in the past, I would go for soles that cushion your steps as you walk - ie a rubber sole and possibly also a padded insole.

Those kind of hard, flat leather soles are jarring on the joints.

Good point, twinkle. For that reason have even been checking out Fitflop ankle boots. Guess the usually dreaded Hotter would also fit into that category.

Just saw the Clark's Morgan Carla instore, but they didn't appeal to me in RL.

I don't like the snake embossing - along with the brogue detail and the laces there's too much going on. But I don't have a problem with flat shoes and I'd be able to walk miles in those no problem.

I can actually see them working with dresses though, and thick tights, its not a trendy look but cute, and neat. Skinny jeans over the top. Don't tuck any trouser in.

Of those, I really like the all Saints ones, though am a little worried about the heel height even of those - 3 cm as opposed to the 2 cm of the boots in OP. The M and S straps are a bit busy for me.

On my expedition to Clark's, the only ones I thought OK were these:

Even then, wasn't sure how keen I was. Must admit to being a bit prejudiced about Clark's, though I know they have masses of admirers on here. What do others think?

I like the hotter boots (which goes against everything I hold holy) and I think if you want comfort that really is the way to go. Im tempted myself. Perfect for work!

Or you could go for Grenson, if you like the white sole look. They also do a leather soled boot in a similar style but that wouldn't be as comfortable if you walk a lot.
