Special treat moisturiser or night cream

I am 36 with normal skin. I look fairly young for my age due to paying for it with very spotty skin in my youth and the acne scars to prove it Hmm

I don't spend much money on myself and currently use boots essentials moisturiser at a pound or so a tub.

For christmas I'd like to ask for a really special moisturiser or night cream to keep ageing at bay as I fear my cheap moisturiser will catch up with me one day.

Any ideas of what I should ask for?

Thank you!!

Smile

Ask for moringa oil!! It is the best night time moisturizer you can get, without all the synthetic stuff

Nivea in the bluepot is the best night cream money can buy! For a treat, get a lovely oil to use underneath, just massage in a few drops before putting Nivea on top.

Clarins do lovely oils, Blue Orchid is nice - or Neal's Yard Rose Facial Oil is lovely too. I use Nuxe Extraordinary Oil at the moment which is nice.

L'Occitane divine cream or immortelle are faves with my SIL and her mum. Or steam cream

The Clarins face treatment oils are lovely and I also love their multi activ night cream.

If you have anything other than really dry skin I'd avoid the blue nivea tub. It's really thick and brought me out in spots

I've heard amazing things about midnight secret, it's a bit of a cult buy, albeit expensive. It's by Guerlain though not Kiehls

What is your skin like now? Is it still oily? if so avoid Nivea blue tub

Moisturising in itself is not anti-ageing although posh creams can feel fabulous. It stops your skin being dry on that day but doesn't do anything more lasting than that.

Anti-ageing would be:
SPF, SPF, SPF!
Acids - salicylic if you have blackheads, glycolic and lactic if not
Retinol

So I'd go for a day cream with SPF30 (can't be bothered to use separate moisturiser and SPF personally), Effaclar Duo if spotty, Alpha H Liquid Gold for the luxe version of acid - or Pixi Glow tonic, followed by LRP Redermic for the retinol.
