What the heck would you wear on your legs for a winter night out?

I can't abide skin coloured tights but no way can I bare my legs.

Red dress + leopard shoes = working girl.

Why not black shoes then you can wear black opaque tights?

DuelingFanjo · 27/11/2014 17:22

because i don't have any black shoes apart from my brogues.
Can I wear them?

It's a meal and then pub(s) possibly clubs

I don't think leopard plus red dress equals working girl! Shock I think/hope PP was being fascetious....

I would go for nude tights. I wouldn't usually wear them, but I think it would be the best look here.

I think a lot depends on the style/length of dress and the style/heel height of the shoes to be honest.

Chiffony tunic like dress, knee length.

God I hate Christmas dos.

Last year I was totally underdressed.

Chiffony tunic style dress sounds lovely - can you post a link?

The dress sounds nice. Now, are the shoes traditional stiletto type or something a bit more chunky? Round toe, pointy? Am leaning toward bare legs myself but that's becauseI never get on with nude tights as they always end up ghostly or orange on me.

I think you would look like Kat Slater

Nude fishnets. I think it would look really good. Black shoes can look very heavy with chiffon.

OK, this is going to be controversial ... Black with red or black with chiffon can look 'heavy'. Black especially opaque with red chiffon will probably kill it. To me its either nude - matt or fishnet - but I always struggle with the right shade. Or its barely black sheers. No, they aren't trendy but with leopard shoes may make the whole thing work. And I know black sheer of any sort is condemned here, but sometimes its better to look pulled together than bang on fashionable.
I think you may have to experiment ... Maybe try pinterest to start with. Cn't link as the iPad and Pinterest app fight like siblings

Ok - what about a yellow skirt?

this with black tights, leopard shoes and black blousey thing? Is that bad.

Shoes are heeled but not too high, with a round toe.

I like it a lot but think it might be a nude tights dress! Very won't let me look at the skirt (maybe they are embarassed by a lack of black Friday codes) but I am wary of black and yellow in theory ...
Take the dress back and find a cheap sequin skirt to go with the black ensemble ...? Sure I saw one yesterday. New look? Possibly Very? Asos? Maybe some nice codes today ...

Thinking I might just go with trousers of some kind, and heels?

Nooooo... that's a lovely dress.
Bite the bullet and get some hold ups or some nude tights.
You'll be grand!
Or THESE???
Or these??
Sorry, they are a bit tongue in cheek but some people could get away with it?

Think nude tights look orangey if they're cheaper, the glossy ones are usually quite nice
I've had great ones from debenhams
Think the dress is lovely

Whenever I see people in nude tights I can see that they are wearing tights and I just don't think they look good. You know, where they bag out at the back of the knees?

You won't be able to able to see the back of your knees and hopefully no one will have such a keen critical eye as you!

Bare legs I'm afraid. Shiney nude tights (or any nude tights) look awful IMO. Fake tan / Sally Hansens Airbrush Legs and brave it. Nice dress with leopard print shoes - good combo.

And no, you really cannot wear that yellow skirt with opaques. You'll look like a bumble bee!

I think leopard shoes are best with black. They'd be fighting the red for attention. Black cigarette leg trousers would be lovely with leopard heels.

Bare legs and a brave smile.

I'm wrong. Lots of people have keen critical eyes - just not me!
