I am trying to work out whether to charity shop this skirt now that my legs have seen better days. Is it okay or do I need to get rid of it.

Yep, keep. There's nothing wrong with your legs either!

AMinorBird Wed 26-Nov-14 20:03:08

Thank you. DH (not usually conservative) doesn't think I can wear short skirts anymore now I'm over the hill. hmm

TywysogesGymraeg Wed 26-Nov-14 20:04:43

Looks OK to me too

bonzo77 Wed 26-Nov-14 20:06:30

Def keep. You have lovely toned legs. They're meant to be the last thing to "go". Which means your mini skirt will be a wardrobe staple forever.

MilkThistle187 Wed 26-Nov-14 20:08:38

Your dh is being ridiculous, you have great legs!

AMinorBird Wed 26-Nov-14 20:15:12

Ah, thank you smile.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie Wed 26-Nov-14 20:22:20

How old are you? I'm 44 and frequently wear skirts as short as that.

Bunbaker Wed 26-Nov-14 20:24:12

Sorry, but brown shoes with black tights don't look good together IMO.

AMinorBird Wed 26-Nov-14 20:27:36

I am 40.

The tights are navy if that helps.

burnishedsilver Wed 26-Nov-14 21:06:02

It looks too short to me tbh. It looks like it would ride up a bit when you sit. Its not an age thing.

RhinestoneCowgirl Wed 26-Nov-14 21:10:48

Nothing wrong with your legs! Don't like the shoes myself.

WeegieScum Wed 26-Nov-14 21:49:22

Love it!

Can you tell us where you got the skirt from?

NoelleHawthorne Wed 26-Nov-14 21:50:21

look fine

burnishedsilver Wed 26-Nov-14 22:01:07

Try sitting on a chair in front of a full length mirror. That should tell you either way.

Funkytown Wed 26-Nov-14 22:19:48

don't like the shoes love the rest of the outfit tho
you have a great pair of legs

AMinorBird Wed 26-Nov-14 22:24:09

The skirt is from H&M Weegie but a few years old.

Have taken it off now but will give it the sitting down test tomorrow Burnished.

SoMuchForSubtlety Wed 26-Nov-14 22:29:26

bonzo the legs might be the last thing to go on your average apple shape but let me assure you they're the first thing to go if you're pear. Mine haven't been fit for viewing above the knee since my mid 20s!

OP you can get away with it however, ignore your DH if you feel comfortable. You have zero skin on display, I don't see the issue. It's not like you're in danger of flashing someone while wearing opaques...

WeegieScum Wed 26-Nov-14 22:36:39

Thanks AMinorBird. I'm on the lookout for an almost identical outfit to that but I can't find a skirt. Definitely don't listen to your DH you look fab!

AMinorBird Wed 26-Nov-14 22:47:58

I think that there may be a similar skirt in Jack Wills in navy if that helps.

WeegieScum Wed 26-Nov-14 22:56:52

Ooh thanks will take a look

Amethyst24 Thu 27-Nov-14 00:02:10

Christ, I'm 41 and wear shorter skirts than that all the time. Admittedly my skin tone isn't what it was so I do tend to wear them less in summer but with opaque tights what on earth is the problem?

You look lovely, OP.

Coumarin Thu 27-Nov-14 01:59:11

Like it. Definitely not too short and you definitely have very good legs. Has your DH been looking at them so long that his eyesight has gone or something?

Anyway, I vote keep.

sunflower49 Thu 27-Nov-14 02:03:16

Keep the skirt but send your DH to the charity shop!

I think you have great legs!
