Needs to be black and probably cropped. Not a blazer (live in the flipping things at work) and not a cardigan. Any ideas, please?

I'm a bit addicted to them, but would some Wingz work?

Thank you but no. Not my sort of thing. Sorry.

Some sort of shrug or bolero?

I just worry that they look a bit, 'Ancient lady at the opera' though.

Some sort of pashmina?

Nope to a pashmina - would look like a Greek widow.

See, I really like the feathery thing but would look an idiot in it - and way too expensive.

I can't do sequins as the dress is already a bit 'busy' on its own.

Buy a dress with sleeves.

Seriously. I'm with you...hate pashminas...they look middle aged. Those "Wingz" things are interesting but the models are a bit amateur and it looks bad because of that.

Buy something else.

Dress is already bought, and I like it. My usual go-to would be a fabric biker jacket, but it's too thick and hot for indoors.

One of my main rules about any new dress is sleeves. It's just not practical otherwise for exactly the reasons here...what about a sort of filmy, thin bolero? My sister had quite a nice one in a beige floaty fabric but it was fitted...
