Has anyone got the nail kit that's on offer for £50? I'm thinking to get it for Christmas (well to direct my mum to buy it for me) I'm addicted to shellac and if this was any good it would save me a fortune!!

I got it last Xmas. It is good and works well. You can only get four fingers under the lamp so I do both thumbs then right fingers then left fingers. It lasts about eight days on me, so not as long as professional shellac but pretty good. You can often get colours and the basics on eBay. Overall I think it is good. There are quite a few threads about it on here if you want more info, do a search.

can you also use normal nail varnish with this or does it have to be specific ones

It's "sensationail" I bought it full price and happy with it Smile
I have used normal nail polish then topped with the clear gel polish and set it under the lamp. Probably not supposed to but worked for me!

Based on this thread I bought this today, plus a couple of colours as they were 'buy one, get one half-price'. I've done the nude/beige colour as I thought if I went horribly wrong it'd be less obvious and I think it looks OK. OK, my nails and cuticles weren't in a great shape beforehand so it doesn't look 'salon finished', but they look OK and I'm pleased with them and assume practice will help too. Thumbs up, so far ...
