A very formal do, and I'd ideally love to find a one shoulder dress. Has anyone seen any affordable (ie trying to save for Xmas pressies rather than too much indulgence on myself). Doesn't have to be black, but can't have excessive slits etc.

Try tk maxx
Loads of dresses reasonably priced

It's my first stop for things like this

Are there any dress hire agencies near you?

I've bought a couple of formal dresses from Asos outlet recently. The Jessica Wright ones fit really well although some are a bit TOWIE.

I have just hired from here for a work event - not sure of your budget and location but I tried on a couple of amazing one shoulder dresses.

Can you give an idea of budget & size?

£36 until midnight tonight in quite a few sizes.

If you're a tiny size 4 TK Maxx on line has this, but you'd be best going into a shop I think for more choice

Otherwise what size / budget / location?

Monsoon, Phase Eight and Coast are good for long dresses...
