Please help me find a spa trip for DM...

... I thought people in here might have some good ideas.

DM has recently discovered spas and my sister and I want to buy her a trip/treat for Christmas. The budget is probably between £150-200 as I will also be accompanying her so I need to pay for myself and I'd baulk at anything above £150 for me (I'm imagining that we'll pay for an extra treatment for DM that I'll sit out).

Anything in North East England or within Norfolk and Suffolk would be ideal as then it would be a day trip for one of us.

The catch is that DM loves seaweed treatments (she was in NI when she discovered spas) and I'm having a hard time finding seaweed treatments in England. She has asthma so can't stay in scented steam rooms for very long. We have been to the Bath spa before and she liked the rooftop pool but wasn't that keen on the steam rooms due to her asthma.

There used to be an ace private spa in Gateshead (you could book it for groups at a time) but that seems to have closed and I don't think they did seaweed stuff anyway.

Any help gratefully appreciated, as well as recommendations :)

Have you tried Seaham Hall?

Yes, sadly they don't do seaweed treatments :( It's my (expensive!) fallback option if I can't find somewhere that does seaweed.

Have a look at Titanic Spa. It's an old mill conversion just outside Huddersfield. The accommodation is in apartments,I've not been in those but people i know have stayed in them and say they're very nice. I've been twice recently for a day spa and it's very good. I don't know if they have seaweed but they do have a mud chamber. There are a few different steam and sauna rooms plus an ice room, a large pool and small gym. Have a look on the website as there are usually special offers on but I'm not sure how far in front these offers go.

Lifehouse Spa is probably too far south (in Essex, near Clacton/Frinton) They have a ishga Detoxifying Seaweed Body Wrap.

I really love Linden Hall in Longhorsley, not sure if they do seaweed treatments though. Have a look on spabreaks.co.uk, I always book mine on there as they do fab deals x

Titanic Spa in Huddersfield is brilliant. I'm having my second trip there over NEw Year. Not sure if they do seaweed stuff but it's a very nice place, easygoing, nice lunch
