thinking of treating myself, have wanted one for years, am having a shit time atm

cant afford a full price one but on ebay second hand ones have I have been watching have gone for around £300

what do people think?

There are so many fakes around so if you do want to get one from Ebay have it authenticated on the purseforum before you bid.

GaryShitpeas Sun 02-Nov-14 19:05:23

eeek yeah i could do, but purseforum scares me

its really daunting

Carpaccio Sun 02-Nov-14 19:11:24

They're nice people on there smile

It's one post in the Mulberry Authentication thread - and it saves you from loads of hassle with ebay and paypal. There are so many fake bags on there that it is ridiculous. I personally wouldn't risk buying anything without having it authenticated first.

There are shops that specialise in selling second hand Mulberry bags and you could get one from one of the outlets - they sometimes have special discounts and offers so you can save extra. You could also wait for the sale, that's what I usually do...

Depends on colour, £300 sounds very cheap for an Alexa? I bought one from one off he outlets at Shepton mallet and then bought one from ebay from a well known/authenticated seller and it was £479 (and beautiful!!!)

GaryShitpeas Mon 03-Nov-14 17:15:56

yeah I thought 300 sounded a bit cheap

id hate to be unknowingly walking round with a fake

does anyone have any links to reputable re sellers / mulberry discount stores please

and ok I will join purse forum and hope people aren't too mean to me ha

Pretty much everything on eBay is fake

GaryShitpeas Tue 04-Nov-14 07:46:27

really peasandlove ? even the sellers that bang on about how their stuff has been authenticated etc and offer money back guarantees etc?

I thought ebay were pretty hot on fakes, I was selling some kids Uggs (that were honestly genuine, they were from Schuh) a few weeks ago and the cunts removed them as they were trying to accuse me of selling fakes

Yes, I've sold quite a few branded things on eBay (bags unused for years cluttering up wardrobe, coat worn once for a wedding, etc.) and I promise they were all genuine! I've bought some nice bits too. You do just have to be careful when buying - if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Behoove Tue 04-Nov-14 09:54:35

I've sold some nice outgrown genuine things too. Agree with leedy though, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

When I went to China, I couldn't believe the amount and quality of the fakes.

peasandlove Tue 04-Nov-14 10:29:19

Yup. Go to a Chinese wholesaler website and see what they sell. Some of the eBay sellers even use their photos.
I wouldn't buy anything of value off ebay

GaryShitpeas Tue 04-Nov-14 10:41:44

i went to new York last year and when i was in Chinatown saw loads and loads of fake handbags ie chanel, LV, etc and they were so shit it was embarrassing, you couldn't pay me to carry one of their about. AND they were like 100 dollars shock

proper Chinese fake ones must be better ha

Updating : after a LOT of hunting Am research I got a used one from eBay for the bargain price of £280, it was cheap as it had a pen leak inside so the lining is marked but doesn't bother me.

It arrived today and I am very sure it is genuine as it's gorgeous soft leather and quite heavy and all the fastenings etc look fine. however I'm going to nip it to the mulberry outlet in my town today just to be sure

Hope it's real as It's beautiful am in love haha x

Gary if you go to the purse forum there is a Mulberry bit and they can authenticate it for you for peace of mind. They are very nice there honest! Enjoy your new bag!

Gary I saw that bag on ebay and thought it looked the real deal. Do report back though.

SirRaymondClench Sat 15-Nov-14 14:11:07

Or try authenticate4u. It cost £5 and they know their stuff.
Had a bag I was looking at authenticated through them recently.
