Just you, MI. Disappointed we didn't go with 'letting one off', but not quite brave enough to start the thread myself!

Hi everybody - just spent ages I the shoe shop arguing with DS who wanted fur lined converses for winter whereas I have insisted he take a plain black shoe/boot which grips, is waterproof and protects his ankles. He is not pleased and is worse than the girls!

I am looking in desultory way at online supermarket order for next week. Can't think of anything to put on it (have nipped to Lidl for fruit and veg etc). Oh dear, and it's half term too...DD1 suggests 'stuffed pasta pitta folafol [sic] soup fish cakes' all of which we have or are on there, so I'm sure we'll be fine Grin

My sister says the dog has eaten her antidepressants. Dog is lively and somewhat nauseous. DSis says she's going to have to explain to doc that no she really hasn't sold her droogs on the black market Grin

Oh my word. I think I may have to join this thread. I mis-read it as "Gunpowder, treason & CAPES". "Oh" thought I "I quite fancy a cape this season..."

Grin Ujjayi!

Hatty, I didn't know you could get fur-lined converses!

I quite fancy a capeSmile.

BTM - I may have exaggerated somewhat when I said fur - I mean imitation sheepskin.

Well that means fur-lined in my book! I quite fancy a cape too. Or a big wrappy sort of cardi/coat thing. Maybe I could find one in Selfridges to spend my vouchers on...

Hello Ujjayi, how are you?

Love the idea of the dog on Prozac. Hope he will be ok. Any more news on Beachydog?

Fur lined converse sound fab. It took us 3 goes to get a pair of shoes for both dds which they would deign to wear and which rocked my boxes. I dreading the years to come on the fashion front.

Ticked my boxes. Rocking them would be something else I fear....

Outside school, DD1 is wearing my old Converse and needs new ones. DD2 is wearing a pair of shiny DMs she says still fit her.

Report
hattymattie · 23/10/2014 16:35

MI DD2 lives in her DM's - I don't mind these as I know her feet are dry and warm but I look at DS's feet and I feel cold. I think the furry converse made his feet look enormous on his skinny ankles. I have promised him converse again in the summer.

I am reading Middlemarch - I think it may be a little long for me.

Hi Uijayi please do stay. Take your cape off and put your feet up. I'd be happy in anything bat-winged ATM as I feel so flabby. Shame it rhymes with me name and all.
Wretched day at the coal face. More randomers than customers and the till was down for some reason .
Home, tea, small pathetic weep, back exercises, warm fluffy bath, cashmere socks( ahhh) and bed.

Confused

Aww Crem - you need a trashy film to cheer you up.

Have skyped with DD who has apparently been teasing some poor boy on the grounds that his accent is impossibly posh for someone who comes from Yorkshire and who went to the local school.

On the bus to meet friends - going to see another mum in a theatre production, and a dads band playing the score!

I had a small nap when I got in from New York this morning, so will hopefully be able to sleep tonight. Did not find the shopping as good as I used to - a lot of the smarter clothes did look very "American" and I didn't think would translate too well to London. But I did get a few bits. Grin

DH has cleared out the hall in my absence, which seems to mean putting everything (mostly books) on the DDs' beds. He has also rearranged the kitchen cupboards again so that I can't find anything... And he appears to have done no washing, and hasn't hoovered either. Angry

Today I am mainly looking like a wizened crone with her wig on back-to-front. I am not sure adding a cape into this mix would be a good thing. Actually, I had to wear a hooded cape as part of my school uniform and it made me look like a small, fat witch.
Tea and sympathy, Crem. Fluffy socks and bed sounds just the job.

hattymattie · 23/10/2014 18:03

How was NY Mrs S - apart from the inferior shopping. I do remember an American designer once saying that the British High Street was the best in the world.

My DH also does the kitchen cupboards from time to time and it really annoys me. I'm sure it's passive aggressive.

Much comfort to the exhausted cremo and lalsy I should be exhausted as I seem to be out every night this week….it hasn't hit me yet but it's coming.

I shouldn't laugh but MI's story of her DSis's dog and its drug habit is somewhat amusing if a little worrying. Grin

How's the jet lag? MrsS

We are supposed to be seeing Gone Girl tonight. It is rare for me not to be working on Thurs nights so we're taking advantage. I've also just remembered that DH has the day off tomorrow and we're supposed to be "doing something "…but I've also just remembered that he's off on a drunken jolly to Cambridge this weekend…so presumably it's a move to make sure I don't kick off about that!
Writing this morning with ConS who was in a lazy mood and needed a kick up the jacksy and a strong coffee. Nevertheless half a new scene written. Then interviewed an absolutely lovely woman for research for a particular character we're developing. We have also decided we need a choreographer to look at one of the scenes to help with the movement in it. She has already texted me back Smile so all good. Herr Direktor is rehearsing the 10 min snippet next week.
