Slippers - dull but necessary! Any recommendations?

I spent all but 2 hours a week indoors. I have a very sick daughter and am constantly running up and down stairs, pushing wheelchair to loo and back, catching her when she falls etc. I've been living in flip flops but now it's getting colder I need slippers! I would like some comfy warm ones with good sole (so as not to slip) and a link g (possibly, but am allergic to wool). I have previously have Dunlop slip on mule style but they aren't safe for running up stairs and Dunlop moccasin style ones but I seem to be between sizes or else they stretch too much. I don't mind how much I spend as I won't be buying any other winter shoes will I?! Just need safe, comfy, warm.

Ugg? Those odd Birkenstock style always in Facebook ads? Any ideas?

www.rubyanded.co.uk/ do lovely slippers. I am fond of the ballerina style as they stay on without flapping.

You could look at fake ugg style ones as they won't be wool

I have a pair of slipper boots from Bedroom Athletics (dreadful name!). Debenhams stock them, I think.

They have a good sole, are quite tight fitting and furry but not wool. Very cosy and I feel safe running up and down stairs in them. You can also stick them in the wash.

A pair lasts me about a year of fairly solid wearing - I work from home and even in summer my feet can get cold if I'm sat still for a while. I'm on my third pair.

Crocs and fluffy socks?

My quarry tiled kitchen and going out to the garage freezer kills slippers.

No matter how expensive the slippers are, they always get smelly and have a short shelf-life. So my advice is to get some cheap ones (because you will invariably need to replace them).
Have just bought these and they are so comfortable and cosy.

Fake UGGs from Primark - cheap and keep your ankles warm and a non slip sole. I work from home often and always have cold feet - have spent loads on slippers over the years but these are the best ones

These suggestions are great, thank you. And especially for introducing me to rubyanded

Just purchased a pair of classic croc clogs as this years winter slippers. Tried expensive sheepskin ones but actually too hot for my feet and not thick enough in the soles to be comfortable on hard flooring.

Moshulu - pretty sure they aren't wool but they're lovely and snug, hardwearing with rubber soles, my last pair lasted 5 years without getting smelly, they were machine washable too. I only replaced them because my toe eventually went through one of them.

Nordikas are really great slippers, they are real suede in brilliant colours. I had a pair did me a couple of years, not a couple of months like most others.

I wear Birkenstocks clogs for slippers. I just pop on socks if feet are chilly. They are very comfy but sturdy so can be worn for hours inside. A pair usually lasts me three winters as slippers. In summer, I'm in flip flops or madrids.

I just get sainsburys slip on style with the plastic sole - they are fab and so cheap I can have a new pair every season if I want!

I've got last year's version of these m&s fake ugg things So has the Google box vicar.

I can't vouch for her, but I like mine - warm and cosy, stay on the feet dashing about, secret support soles quite comfy. But the best thing is they can be bunged in the washing machine and come up a treat. And it sort of fluffs everything back up so they become more bouncy again.

I second mahabis. They are expensive but good quality, warm, comfy, stylish and really almost more like a slip on shoe.

Sorry I don't have a link but I found some very comfy ballerina slippers in Sainsburys that I really like and they don't slip.
