So far this is the best I've found but I thought I'd check with you before I part with my money smile Have you seen anything this size, this budget, but nicer?

If I were one to pend a fortune on bags then I'd probably rather have this, I think. prefer this one but I think it's too small.

Definitely the Halston over the Whistles. Else, may I present Massimo Dutti's rather lovely looking bag

BelindaAllWorkedOut Wed 27-Aug-14 22:29:39

Or buy this gorgeous thing, currently at 20% off, making it great value for money.

Personally I don't think it looks like anything special (but I would have to see it in person to appreciate the true bag beauty)

I LOVE the second one MrsLettuce posted grin

I have this Modalu one which I love and is really good quality.

I think the Whistles one is lovely too though.

I'd be tempted to go for something like this because I would love it forever because I didn't spend £200 on it.

I love the Zac Posen one

TwoInTheMourning Thu 28-Aug-14 07:13:07

Hmmm..... The Zac Posen and the Halston are stunning bit too small. Got any more suggestions for me please?

TwoInTheMourning Thu 28-Aug-14 07:51:07

Forget the previous one, I've just realised it's not real leather. No wonder it was so cheap! sad

I like the whistles one - the strap is long while most of the others' is too short and I always find it a pain with bulky coats.

I also prefer simple and understated of gold faff and tassel, which tends to date a bag to a trend/season.

Only concern is thin straps - if you fill a bag that big with an ipad and a bottled drink, will your shoulder get sore because the straps are too thin for the weight? I always transfer contents of current bag into new bag I'm "trying out" in store as a lot of bags don't sit well on my shoulder with my stuff in it (as opposed to empty).

This? Do you want gold or silver hardware, or don't mind?

VeryLittleGravitasIndeed Thu 28-Aug-14 08:11:32

Or this?

Belinda have you seen the Other Stories one in real life? If so, what is the quality like? In some shots it looks a bit like a doctors' bag - I don't know if that is a thing atm - saw a photo of Mrs Beckham with a similar one (although obviously 10 times the price)

This doesn't look much on line but it's really nice in real life.

RonaldMcDonald Thu 28-Aug-14 21:08:15

My terribly sweet mother <?> bought me this
It is actually rather lovely

BelindaAllWorkedOut Thu 28-Aug-14 21:38:57

Brillenbar - yes, I have and I loved it. I blogged it, will find link so you can see the photos I took.

BelindaAllWorkedOut Thu 28-Aug-14 21:40:28

Here, in this "& Other Stories" post.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. Today I went to the local shopping centre and noticed all the pretty young things sporting large totes on their elbows. It was like Michael Kors central. It's made me rethink the whole thing.
