Am struggling with this having bought a few items of navy clothing recently. I'm mid 30s btw.

Love navy. Classic I guess but I think just a good colour.

Lucked Tue 19-Aug-14 17:43:35

Classic but I think you have to accessorise right, not sure about navy shoes! grey and tan better and more fashionable.

What have you bought?

atticusclaw Tue 19-Aug-14 17:44:02

I wear lots of navy. More flattering and softer than black.

lurkingaround Tue 19-Aug-14 17:44:09

Love navy. Better than black on most people. And not as ageing as black on most. Why are you struggling?

MrsCampbellBlack Tue 19-Aug-14 17:44:24

I love navy, including shoes, clothes and bags.

dexter73 Tue 19-Aug-14 17:47:12

Navy is lovely. Much better than black for me.

buttercrumble Tue 19-Aug-14 17:52:05

Love it here smile

NormHonal Tue 19-Aug-14 17:53:38

Classic, much kinder on many skin tones than black.

MuttonCadet Tue 19-Aug-14 17:56:02

Love navy, classic colour.

TheFillyjonk Tue 19-Aug-14 18:03:00

Classic. This thread makes me want to buy a big pile of navy things...

Actually, I must stop looking at the S&B boards as they always make me covetous.

MissBeehiving Tue 19-Aug-14 18:10:05

Classic. I have a lot of navy - I think it looks more "expensive" than black. But then I could be impossibly deluded grin

dexter73 Tue 19-Aug-14 18:12:19

Navy goes with everything as well.

Floisme Tue 19-Aug-14 18:20:16

It's classic if it suits you; ageing if it doesn't.

On me, it's very ageing, almost as bad as black.

jackandjilly Tue 19-Aug-14 18:21:36

I'm early 30's and I love navy. smile

callamia Tue 19-Aug-14 18:22:28

I live in navy, it suits my (yellowish) colouring and I think it makes me look more well put together than I really am. My navy linen jacket is the best thing I own for that.

beccajoh Tue 19-Aug-14 18:25:26

I'm mid-30s and love navy!

JohnCusacksWife Tue 19-Aug-14 19:20:25

I always used to wear black but am moving gradually to navy instead. Suits me so much better and definitely less ageing than black.

Navy is the best colour. Always appropriate, massively versatile. I am so hooked, even my car is navy :-(

noddyholder Tue 19-Aug-14 21:37:03

I like it but it does have a sensible vibe

Mrsgrumble Tue 19-Aug-14 21:38:45

Mid 30s

Have invested in a lot of navy. I think it looks better than too much black, can be worn in summer also.

Bunbaker Tue 19-Aug-14 21:39:31

If it suits you it will never look wrong on you. Wearing a colour that doesn't suit you is deeply unflattering no matter how fashionable the style or colour is.

AnnabelleDarling Tue 19-Aug-14 21:56:55

Passwordprotected, I am a navy obsessive with a navy car too! DH wants to sell it, I said only if you find another navy car to replace it!

I have gradually replaced all the black items in my wardrobe with navy, it's a much better colour for me.

Prelude Tue 19-Aug-14 22:24:05

My new wardrobe is based on blues / beiges with a navy coat. I'm forty two and didn't realise how much it suited me until now. I blame navy and sky blue school uniform. Was completely sick of it and it's taken me a while blush to catch up.

SageYourResoluteOracle Tue 19-Aug-14 23:44:08

I'm mid thirties and I have a huge amount of navy in my wardrobe now. My secondary school uniform was navy and that put me right off the colour until a couple of years ago, mind you.

I bought (mostly) navy wrap dress today actually.

I agree that it can look classic and classy.
