Wear summat that you can hide thermals under?

GretchenWiener Fri 11-Jul-14 17:18:24

oh i hadnt thought of that. My thermals are all a bit industrial for watching kids sport

PestoSurfissimos Fri 11-Jul-14 17:20:39

If it's a barn affair, then maybe there will be dancing. In which case I would suggest doing that to keep warm!

PestoSurfissimos Fri 11-Jul-14 17:21:38

Or you may be lucky & there may be a fire pit that you can huddle round grin

Smart black jeans, smart top

Maxi dress + cardi/jacket

MrsLettuce Fri 11-Jul-14 17:46:08

Well, trew and layers is the wise way in any case. You know this confused

kaykayblue Fri 11-Jul-14 17:48:38

I'd recommend wearing something that you layer up without look like a homeless person.

For example, you could wear smart skinny/straight leg jeans (so a dark colour basically) with ballet flats (I know they are colder, but they just look smarter!). Then a nice top to go with it for when the sun is shining. But bring with you a woollen cardigan and pashmina that you can add when the temperature starts dropping, and also a winter coat for when it gets actually cold!

ta- am humming and hawing about shoes

GretchenWiener Fri 11-Jul-14 17:49:28

yes to jeans - its the idea of a wooly or warm top that is odd - all mine are so wintery

noddyholder Fri 11-Jul-14 19:37:37

Skinnies sloppy style light jumper and boots I would add the party element with a nice big scarf and some big earrings too cold for anything else!

ThisBitchIsResting Fri 11-Jul-14 19:43:10

What noddy said. Dark skinnies, light coloured floaty knitted top with a vest underneath, and definitely heeled ankle boots. Lots of makeup and maybe a 'statement necklace'. Don't wear heeled shoes, it'll look try hard and you'll freeze.

And drink lots of wine, that'll keep you warm wine

ThisBitchIsResting Fri 11-Jul-14 19:47:46

Or could you wear a dress with bare legs and ankle boots - grey suede Jalouse, that kind of thing? Ime if you've got warm feet, the rest of you will be fine.

ThisBitchIsResting Fri 11-Jul-14 19:59:28

These jeans

ThisBitchIsResting Fri 11-Jul-14 20:09:53

And this

GretchenWiener Fri 11-Jul-14 20:33:57

I haven't GOT a sloppy light jumper

GretchenWiener Fri 11-Jul-14 20:34:29

Ta bitch. I don't wear dresses really

GretchenWiener Fri 11-Jul-14 20:35:50

Thd Laura Ashley link doesn't work for me

GretchenWiener Fri 11-Jul-14 20:37:17

Boots jeans necklace all great ta. Just thinking of top

RonaldMcDonald Fri 11-Jul-14 20:42:43

i use alcohol for warmth

ThisBitchIsResting Fri 11-Jul-14 20:45:50

I don't think you need woollies, even outside do you won't be cold in jeans and boots. Just wear a top you like and drink wine.

OatcakeCravings Fri 11-Jul-14 20:51:32

Assuming the party is fairly soon then you won't need any kind of jacket/cardy thing. And you will be far too hot in boots. Though I am from the north of Scotland where any temperature above 14 degrees is summer!

RonaldMcDonald Fri 11-Jul-14 20:51:44

i think you should get your pins out
what about that Gap dress?

RonaldMcDonald Fri 11-Jul-14 20:52:58

found it or a vest/jacket jeans
