Foundation, tinted moisturiser or BB cream

I'm needing a new face base but the minefield of products is baffling. I usually use a light foundation or tinted moisturiser but am wondering about BB creams, which do you think is best? I like Boots No7 and Clinique.

I love Boots Botanics BB cream. It's SPF 30.

I also like loreal nude magique foundation.

I use all three types but for different occasions / reasons.

Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturiser. Makes you glow and my skin often gets complimented when I use it. But I would probably use it mostly in the day / during the summer. But sometimes I layer it with...

Estee Lauder BB Cream. It's relatively new and gives a good summer coverage. Can be built up for more coverage also. Used with the LM above, probably through my t-zone, it's nice in the evening.

For full on coverage - if I were going to an indoor party in the summer / needed it to be long lasting / was going to be in dark light, I'd use the YSL Touce Foundation. It's lovely, eat coverage, dewy but not shiney. And sometimes I mix it with either of the above to thin it slightly.

I have many many many foundations....

Another vote for boots botanics here too. I bought it after reading a thread on here about it. Tis marvellous cream.

I use the body shops All In One BB cream. Nice light coverage, doesn't feel cakey, my natural abundant freckles show through and doesn't clog up the bit between my eyebrows like normal foundation does.
Plus it's usually on offer :)

Someone here recommended Elizabeth Arden's tinted moisturiser for my very sensitive and reactive skin and I have found it very good.

To be completely honest, I don't think that the Western BB/CC creams are any different from a normal tinted moisturiser.

I use Estee Lauders BB cream for the days where I don't need much coverage. I really like it, but I need to have a tan before the colour works for me. I've used it for a few years and it lasts really well during those long hot summer days. I always seem to get compliments on how good my skin looks/how healthy I look when I wear this one.

For days where I want just a bit more coverage, I use either Laura Mercier oil-free tinted moisturiser or Estee Lauder Double Wear Light. I absolutely love the Laura Mercier product and would most certainly recommend this. The Estee Lauder one is good, but I seem to prefer the other products, so not sure I'd get this again. It does seem to last really well on the skin though.

For more coverage, I use Diorskin Nude. This is my absolute favourite foundation and I've used it for years.

Citygirl why not go into the department stores and pick up a few samples of foundation, BB cream and tinted moisturisers then you can see what suits you best for your budget.
