and would prefer cotton or a non nasty material. Oh, plus I'm 44. Oh yes and I'm short and a little podgy at the moment, 1st overweight. Impossible, I know.

AtYourCervix Sun 15-Jun-14 20:18:01

So far in my hunt, yes. Impossible. So hope someone can prove me wrong.

Grrrrrr angryangry

Do you just mean upper arms or any of your arms? Tbh you might end up looking Amish.
I would suggest a very fine merino long sleeve vest in a contrasting colour under dresses with cap sleeves or no sleeves.

IHaveBrilloHair Sun 15-Jun-14 20:28:32

Can you wear tights/leggings?
I don't show skin either, but have some nice dresses.

TwoInTheMourning Sun 15-Jun-14 20:42:28

I don't mind showing skin, I just don't want to show my upper arms or my knees because they look disproportionately fat in comparison to the rest of my body. museumum seriously?? and that wouldn't look Amish?????confusedconfusedconfusedconfused

Marking place. This should be easy but isn't at all. And no it's not the same as looking Amish confused. OP didn't ask for a bonnet stockist!

Watching with interest! I want a short sleeved, over the knee, preferably cotton or jersey summer dress...

Lots of nice dresses on Peopletree site here:

Nice lengths and many with upper arm coverage.

OP didn't ask for a bonnet stockist!

Now, don't shoot me, this is just an idea.

Do a search on Etsy there are lots of individual and handmade sellers on there, just remember to check their reviews and the shipping cost and returns policy.

This is just an example that fits the longer length, cover arms criteria picked at random. Obviously the colours and the print and style are a matter of personal taste.

There are quite a few sellers specialising in linens and cotton, but I've never tried any myself, I just know the problem finding something for summer that covers the bits you don't want on show.

Be warned though you can waste hours searching on there hmm

Next have loads of wrap dresses that come to my knee and I'm 5'6 so might be longer if you're shorter than that. I think they're really flattering.

snice Sun 15-Jun-14 21:40:23

Can't do links on kindle but there's a good linen shirt dress on boden

emsyj Sun 15-Jun-14 21:40:50

Oh, there are some really rather nice ones on Peopletree!!
