Leather handbags that are not designer ...........? any lesser known brands you can recommend?

That's it really. I've had the same fossil handbag for years and it's lasted really well. I've just had a look on the fossil website and nothing grabs me. I've been to tk makk and it was a jumble. Nothing I really like (at least not at a price that I believed was a real bargain anywayy).

So, I know there are some handbag experts around. I want a nice handbag that is not too stuffy and formal as my office you could almost (but not quite) wear jeans.

It just has to be lovely and made of leather and i don't care who made it. I feel that bright pink or orange could be on the cards!

then i'd have to buy another one for when pink or orange won't do

Not sure what the current stock is like, but I have a lovely leather bag from John Lewis which I got in their sale in January last year. It's one of their own brand ones.

I got a beautiful leather bag but from Spain! Cost £30 but is much better than some friends bags, however it is quite formal briefcase type bag. Plus you'd need a trip to Spain to get one!

I have a gorgeous pink leather bag from Orca that was an offer in the back of a magazine 10 years ago. I've never heard of the company so I don't know if they are big or still going or what. It was about £150. Its aged beautifully and Its currently working as my nappy bag Grin

I have a Coach Alexandra bag in berry that I love. I got it from the outlet at Bicester Village for £159. It is made of lovely soft leather and is a gorgeous colour.

Whistles are good for bags. I have got two from there for under £150 that have lasted well and get a lot of compliments

Brit-Stitch make great satchel type bags (I have a milkman & a half pint) in a variety of colours. Kate Spade do the bright colours too. I couldn't decide at a recent visit to bicester so came away empty handed...!

Oh I love coach and coccinelle. I must try to get to kildare village (like bicester). I will not come away empty-handed this time. Last time I looked admiringly at the handbags but couldn't stump up the cash. Now I realise that they were 'bargains'. Now that I've been looking for a handbag I see that.

must check out whistles web site. and i'll google ocra

Nat and Nin do some gorgeous bags and I think they worked for Hermes before setting up their own label

Debenhams do really nice leather bags. Prices start at around £50. I bought one four years ago and its still like
new.

I saw some really nice ones in bright colours (pink and orange included) in Clarks of all places. Not all were leather but some were. V reasonable price.

Also Radley have some lovely bright ones too, though MN style police take you out and shoot you for admitting their bags are timeless and well made for a fraction of the cost of similar designer bags.

Blackcurrantjuice I'd far rather go to Spain and buy a bag there for £30 than spend the same on a bag with some designer bling on it.

Another vote for Peony & Moore I have a few of their bags and they're gorgeous & soft, last well. I also love a rummage in NotOnTheHighStreet.com for bags & Russell & Bromley

I'm all for paying under £250 for a lovely leather bag, I think you're just paying for the label after that even though I would cut off an arm for a Chloe Paraty

I bought a beautiful leather bag from this company. They used to be called Blondie Mania but now seem to have changed to Grandala. Here's the website

Have a look at the Radley Grosvenor before you dismiss Radley altogether!
