MarshaBrady Mon 28-Apr-14 18:41:14

Thanks for the new thread Dry, it fills up so quickly.

Fedupnagging Mon 28-Apr-14 18:46:49

Me too!

Drywhiteplease Mon 28-Apr-14 18:48:28

Ooooh I have a dilemma;
I'm bringing Dd to London for our first girls trip. She wants to shop in the hell hole that is Top Shop Oxford circus, Forever 21,the big H and M and worst of all Hollister where I'll totally freak and get a headache because it's so frigging dark sad . It's really all about her. But as the weekend approaches I can feel my excitement growing, that funny feeling I get when I know I get to go to BIG shops. selfish, bad mummy
AIBU to want to do my shops too grin

I know.....Novice and any other nanny owner could I borrow one for a few hours and they can take her? grin

noviceoftheday Mon 28-Apr-14 18:51:56

Ooh that was quick!

Fedup not claptrap at all! Sleep is of course right too. I eventually listen, and hopefully before I fall over.....Dh is good at saying no, because I need someone to!grin

noviceoftheday Mon 28-Apr-14 18:55:39

Drygringringrin yes my nanny not exactly fashionable but is an excellent nanny

MU - yes me, me!!!

AmberNectarine Mon 28-Apr-14 19:00:46

How old is DD dry? Release her into TS for an hour and leg it up Regent St?

AmberNectarine Mon 28-Apr-14 19:01:15

Or I'll take her - I like all those shops!

LinusDKD Mon 28-Apr-14 19:10:13

I mentioned the MU to DH and he looked at me as if I was mad but was too polite to say anything. So I am a 'maybe' wink

novice take good care of yourself, your body is telling you something.

And I might actually have to take my own advice and go and see a dr as I can't seem to shake off this cold. I don't have a temp anymore but am still coughing a lot and feeling rundown in general.

Before going on holiday I ordered some bargain navy Gigi's on Shopbop (I blame decam who pinned them) and they arrived today.

They are more of a grey navy but very nice nevertheless and will be more of a neutral colour compared to my cobalt and red Gigis.

mara have you cracked and bought a Trio? I wore mine on the plane because I had a Le Pliage full of stuff to keep the DC entertained as hand luggage so couldn't take another big handbag.

Drywhiteplease Mon 28-Apr-14 19:22:01

Linus I go to a "school reunion" you know you want to wink it would be great to meet you.

Amber you're on! If you're busy plan b is to go to champ bar at Selfridges to charge my batteries then have a little snooze on one of the leather armchairs in a dark corner in Hollister grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping Mon 28-Apr-14 19:39:22

I'm in for MU! <nervous>

Linus that's a lot of Gigis. Navy sounds nice, I'm going to try and get my first pair in the US next month - probably tan.

Dry your plan for a shopping day sounds lovely. I'm sure you can fit in a few shops for you wink, you'll need a break from all the big shops as it's the weekend and they'll be heaving. She will love it though! I can't go shopping with my mum anymore as she disapproves of how much I spend on things grin

shopafrolic Mon 28-Apr-14 19:46:43

Waves from sick sofa. I'll be there.
I've had to change my next haircut from 10th May to 17th May. Anyone who fancies a low key catch up - Decam I'm looking at you then PM me smile

Drywhiteplease Mon 28-Apr-14 19:49:07

Blair, I'm really looking fwd to our trip together and she's beyond excited about it all. Love having a teenaged daughter.

Drywhiteplease Mon 28-Apr-14 19:51:27

Blair don't be nervous, I've only been to one and it was brilliant, like meeting old friends
Linus you're coming, no excuses

LinusDKD Mon 28-Apr-14 19:56:16

dry I hope to feel the same way as you when DD is a teenager!

My shopping trips with DM when I was a teenager were mostly horrible as I had, and still have to a certain extent, a very classical taste in clothes and she did not. It has gotten better though over the years, probably because she isn't holding the purse strings anymore.

blair blush I know but they are so comfortable and work with anything. I have my eye on an acid yellow pair I bought for DM last year and which she has never worn. grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping Mon 28-Apr-14 20:07:31

That's so sweet shop smile Before you know it she'll be in the Selfridges champagne bar with you which will be even more fun!

Ohhh Linus I didn't mean that, I'm impressed! I am taking your 3 pairs of gigis as a recommendation! grin

shopafrolic Mon 28-Apr-14 20:10:23

Dry I love that you and I are getting confused for each other! Blair if only I was going to drink champers in Selfridges!

shopafrolic Mon 28-Apr-14 20:11:04

Please come to the MU Linus

MarshaBrady Mon 28-Apr-14 20:17:03

MU list is looking good!

Ok so I'm wearing dh's bright green cheap H&M sweater and got two compliments. Ok one was from dh (so only just counts). It's something isn't it? That phrase I can't use.

shopafrolic Mon 28-Apr-14 20:18:07

High Street Marsha grin
